Kennedyiheme:we are on the same page now, I thought you were against those changing from their respective courses to Education to secure admission. Peace man. |
Umartins1:shebi our discussion dey give you bosses headache, I don shut up na...who am I to disobey high rank individual like you. |
Umartins1:because you beat cut off abi, bad guy. |
Umartins1:wetin happen? |
Kennedyiheme:that is an erroneous impression, you just have to weight your options and see which one sought you better, polytechnic is a good option and so also changing to another course in the university is also as good as the formal, I am an MBBS aspirant and I didn't make the cut off, what you are saying now is that I should go to poly or choose any science related course. Very nice analysis, now let me give you an insight of another analysis and judge which is better. I chose unilag and yaba tech as my first choice university and polytechnic respectively...MBBS cut of is 70.13, and my catchment Lagos is 67.38, I had an aggregate of 67.25. From various things I have heard so far, it is either I am lucky to be considered into the supplementary list or I lose the admission, I also heard they may give me other courses because that was done last year. My conclusion was that the giving of other courses last year boils down to the fact that the number of applicants wasn't many compare to this year and I know many MBBS applicants must have scored far better score than mine...If I say they will give me a course or lucky to get MBBS and it ends up futile then I will have to retake Jamb and stay at home for months preparing for another post utme. For the yaba tech, after my analysis I realised that those they admitted last year started their first semester June/july this year. If I write the post utme which I have already registered for anyway and get admitted I might not resume till may/june next year which boils down to the fact that I will still stay another year even before I resume for poly as I am even sure unilag would have started the sale of form for the next academic session...so which will you go for as a person, choose another course which will be guranteed in unilag or wait for list which is not very sure because it is only luck and miracle that can make your name appear. |
Pprovost:that is exactly what I am saying, you don't know what someone is planing for himself, you just have to take the bold step....forget what people will say now, your Future and what you see is within you, no one sees it except you so don't have that thought that the friends you started with are now ahead of you...hmm. A junior today might become the senior tomorrow.....Success has to do with consistency and not a sudden appearance of what you want... Success without sad stories in my view is not a convincing one, I will just take it as lucky and smooth one. Learning is a continuous process, life is about trying every new thing you see and learn from the outcome...when you learn, you build your knowledge, the knowledge you have makes you confidence and your confidence builds your character, your character in turn will lay the foundation of you as a person. |
Whatever situation you find yourself make sure you are moving forward, don't wait for one thing because you have passion for it...Think. You can always get that thing, all you need is patience for yourself. If you try Jamb and it does not work fond an alternative and keep it in your mind the reason behind your action....take responsibility. At this stage of our life, we must learn to start taking decisions on our own, no one should influence your decision, the ball is in your court.....I have taken my decision and I know what I want and no one will decide my faith for me....The fact that I fail now does not mean I will fail tomorrow, it only gives me an edge and opportunity to re-strategise and plan again...but for goodness sake keep moving forward never stop. If you cannot fly, run. If you cannot run, walk. If you cannot walk, crawl. If you cannot crawl, hold on to a moving thing and let it drag you but don't ever stop moving...don't be stagnant all in the name of you wanting one particular course. |
What is the bone of contention here?, those of you discouraging others not to change their courses and stay extra year at home should try and think before talking, these people know what they are doing, don't discourage anyone please let them follow their heart, you don't have any idea about the decision, you don't even know what the person is up to, changing a course to education is not a bad idea but an alternative to explore and learn....You are not too old to learn, if your dream is to study MBBS and you end up not meeting the cut off you can decide to talke another Jamb or change to a less competitive one so as not to waste your time at home, some people here are not free on their own, hey need to explore before they can learn....you can change your course and take it a temporary measure to what you want to do and at the same time next year take another Jamb while in school and re-apply for your dream course. |
sodson11:so it won't be released the same time, it should be released so that those who fall under catchment can decided if they want to change course or not by following the cut off. |
dedecoder:will the catchment cut off be released along with the merit cut off? |

Deme98:Are you wyning me bro?....I det fear, it is not even up to last year catchment score and merit...which chance do I have now? |
My Result
Aggregate- 67.25
Jamb score-266
Post utme score -27
Course- MBBS |
