Jose Mourinho predicted Manchester United would find it difficult this term as they appear to avoid a 3rd consecutive defeat on Wednesday.

“I said that in the summer before the competition started,” said Mourinho. “It isn’t especially now. Two defeats are two defeats. We still have 35 matches to play. It is not because we lost six points that that is going to change.

SportsLiverpool And Roma Are Accused Of Having The Same Ownership Without Declaring It by josephbbs1(op): 10:55pm On Aug 17, 2018
Liverpool and Roma are accused of having the same ownership without declaring it

Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has launched a sensational accusation claiming that both Liverpool and AS Roma are breaking UEFA rules by having the same ownership without declaring it.

De Laurentiis, a well known Italian movie producer and a man fond of making controversial statements, made the claims shortly after admitting that his Napoli side had placed a bid with AS Roma in the course of the summer for goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Becker, Brazil’s number one keeper, finally moved to Liverpool for a then-world record fee of £67 million.

De Laurentiis’ claims centre around the fact that both the Premier League and Serie A clubs are owned by Americans.

SportsPogba’s Agent Mino Raiola Has Agreed Personal Terms With Barca by josephbbs1(op): 4:23am On Aug 17, 2018
Pogba was handed the captain’s arm-band by United boss Jose Mourinho for the league opener against Leicester and scored a penalty, however, his post-match comments triggered a stir. Asked about his current situation at United, he commented:

“There are things I can’t say, otherwise I’ll get fined. It’s important to know one thing. A player that gets chosen and is happy, you always feel more comfortable than when he’s not happy. That’s all I’ll say.”

“[Pogba’s agent] Mino Raiola has agreed on personal terms with Barca worth £89.5m over 5 years, but United have already rejected one bid from the Catalans and are determined to withstand until the transfer window shuts in Spain at the end of the month.

“Pogba is ready to wait until January or next summer, however meanwhile his relationship with Mourinho will come under more scrutiny amid fears it has reached a breaking point.”

SportsSepp Batter Says Qatar Cheated To Host World Cup by josephbbs1(op): 9:24pm On Aug 05, 2018
The disgraced former Fifa president, Sepp Blatter, has claimed that his fellow govt committee (Exco) members ignored advice that Qatar was incapable of hosting a World Cup after they voted to award the competition to the Gulf state.

He alleges Qatar’s shock victory was a mixture of a rule-breaking collusion deal and political pressure exerted on Michel Platini, the French Exco member.

The claims are made in Blatter’s recently printed book Ma Vérité (My Truth), the 82-year-old’s defence of his 17-year reign as Fifa president, which ended with a six-year ban from football.

Blatter says “no one” on the Fifa Exco, which was superseded by the Fifa council in 2016, read the detailed inspection report on the candidate countries, because they’d all already made up their minds.

“If we had read them carefully, we’d have seen that the World Cup could not be played in Qatar,” he writes.

SportsChelsea Are Set To Accept An Offer From Manchester United Of €75m For Willian by josephbbs1(op): 8:11am On Jul 28, 2018
Another departing player could be Willian, whom Manchester United are interested in. According to Tuttosport, Chelsea is set to accept an offer from Manchester United of €75m, give or take bonuses, for Willian.

For Chelsea, this would represent incredible value as Willian is almost 30 and his value won’t stay that high for much longer. For United, it also gives them a proper winger to deploy on the right.

Willian is very much liked by Mourinho for his dribbling, pace and work rate, despite not being the most prolific or the most creative. He would certainly add a new dimension to their attack, though the price seems steep for a player of his age.

SportsAC Milan Taken Over By American Billionaire Paul Singer’s Elliott by josephbbs1(op): 10:06pm On Jul 22, 2018
Shareholders of AC Milan gave way to a new era on Saturday as the ownership of the club passed over to American billionaire.

American billionaire Paul Singer’s Elliott Management Corp. promised an initial €50 million fund injection into Italian football team AC Milan, providing a much-needed lifeline to the storied team that is fighting a sanction that will preserve it out of the Europa League this season.

AC Milan’s new owner mentioned on Tuesday that the equity capital — and promises for more down the road — should stabilize the seven-time European champion financially.

“Financial assist, stability and proper oversights are essential conditions for on-field success and a world-class fan experience,” Singer said in a statement.

Singer’s hedge fund, Elliott Management, took over the team after the previous owner defaulted on its debt payments. The New York hedge fund helped finance the team’s sale last year, ending three decades of ownership under former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and turning management of the team to Chinese businessman Yonghong Li.

Some critics on social media even called for a Fifa investigation over a “disgrace to sport”.
