Useful Tips If you have not managed to conceive after one year of trying for a baby, you should see your Doctor. They will be able to carry out fertility investigations including a semen test to check the quality and quantity of your (or your partner's) sperm. About 10 in 100 men will have an abnormal result on the first semen test but this does not always mean they have a 'true' abnormality. So, if the results of the first semen test are abnormal, the test should be repeated. Ideally, this repeat test should be done three months after the first, but if it looks as though your sperm count is very low or you have no sperm at all, it should be repeated as soon as possible. |
Useful Tips PCOS is associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol level which may indicate increase risk of problems later. There is no known cause of the condition, but it often runs in families. It is associated with abnormal hormone levels in the body such as having high insulin levels. Insulin is responsible for regulating blood sugar in the body. Most women with PCOS have high circulating level of insulin, which in turn increases the activity and production of hormone like testosterone. An overweight woman is more likely to have increase amount of insulin production. Are there any cure? If you have PCOS and are overweight, losing weight and eating a healthy diet can help reduce some symptoms. Medications are also available to treat symptoms such as excessive hair growth, irregular periods and fertility problems. |
Useful Tips A woman is most likely to get pregnant if she had sex within a day or so of ovulation . This occurs usually about 14 days after the first day of your last period. An egg lives for about 12-24 hours after being released. For pregnancy to happen, the egg must be fertilised by a sperm within this time. If you want to get pregnant, having sex every couple of days will mean there's always sperm waiting in the fallopian tubes to meet the egg when it's released. Sperm can live for up to seven days inside a woman's body. So if you've had sex in the days before ovulation, the sperm will have had time to travel up the fallopian tubes to "wait" for the egg to be released. It's difficult to know exactly when ovulation happens. Always have a sperm waiting for your egg. |
@Noblewife. Am not aware of any Dollyhams product. Am more comfortable with medical or surgical treatment. As long as fibroid is not symptomatic, why worry about it. A greater percentage of women do have fibroid and they are not aware. Though it could be very small or small in size and not causing any problem. It is more common in women of black race. Be careful of so called supplements to shrink fibroid. There are situations where Drs go in via CS with hope of just taking out baby..only to discover multiple fibroids. What can they do? Nothing...just ignore and bring baby out then close body back. Reason is to reduce blood loss. One step at a time...when your baby is out then you can worry about fibroid if at all it is symptomatic and it also goes on to show other ladies like your wife situation, that even with fibroid you can still get pregnant. YES...Fibroid and Pregnancy Co-exist. Fact. |
@Noblewife. Great....that your Dr has counselled you both. Multiple fibroid or not she would be fine. Your doctor knows that going in to deliver via CS in presence of fibroid means he would overlook the fibroid and just bring out baby. Most important is her wellbeing with baby. Best Regards. |
@Noblewife. Sure everything shall be fine. You need not to worry, just prepare yourselves psychologically, encourage her, talk her into option taken by your doctor as it is the best and safest means for mother and baby to avoid complicated birth.Your Dr should offer her counselling as well if she needs one. Should it be the option taken by your Dr. CS is safe as long as you not dealing with quack hospital. Mother and Baby would be fine. I look forward to hearing your good news. congrats in advance. Regards. |
@Viviparity.Good to know you ovulate and no infection. If your fibroid is submucosal and you described it as big, then you need to talk to your doctor. They are more associated with infertility than other types of fibroid. Have you sort the second opinion from another Gyanecologist? Have you had your fallopian tube checked to see that it is not blocking it? |
@Noblewife. Breech position means your baby is presenting with feet first and bottom is downward. It is possible to change the position by what is called ECV--External Cephalic Version where the doctor manipulates the baby head down by applying pressure on the abdomen. Safe method but could be uncomfortable and in most cases works 50% chances. If ECV doesn't work then sorry to let you know that the best option is CS as stated by your Doctor. My advice is you try to support & prepare your wife psychologically for CS, keeping in mind that baby could still be turned head down. Regards. |
@viviparity. Sorry to hear you have fibroid. when you say big..how do you mean?. where is it located?...submucous, suberous..etc. Is it causing you any symptoms?. Is your monthly cycle regular? Are you ovulating? Has your partner been tested?. .Is there any recent vijay infection?. There is nothing stopping you telling your mother inlaw. You don't know where help may come from. How long are you going to keep it to yourselves?. Family. ...friend support do help at times. Regards. |

Which ever product anyone is using, It is best to stick to it for at least 3 months to get the best result, instead of interchanging or switching between one and the other. After 3 months if no effect, take a break at least 2wks before commencing other products. Just an advice..... |
@Immibabe. I am very much aware of those I have stated. Not only that, am also aware of its high yielding results from people I have recommended it to with proof of its efficacy. As for Manix ...I cannot claim to know people who have used and found it effective. It could also be useful. The choice is yours. |
@mamateniola1. Why not try Ovaboost? Instead of doing try and error. |
@Immibabe. Fertilaid for men with Count Boost will be appropriate. It works and highly effective. While he maintains his normal diet in combination with fruits. Results are better after at least 3 months. |
For couples trying to conceive for a baby be it low sperm count, reduced sperm motility, or not ovulating. There are natural products out there that have proven to be effective and could yield results within months. Getting the right information at the right place and at the right time is vital. Don't give up. |
Questions don't seem to be annoying....they are personal questions that would be relevant if a relationship were to occur. Annoying if the person has something to hide or secretive. |
@All....Despite the fact that most people are seeking solutions to their situation, Let us be careful with side medications, self prescribed medications and medications with no proof of efficacy so as not to complicate issues. Always seek the advice from your doctor and when in doubt, always seek second opinion if possible 3rd and 4th opinions from other medical experts. |
@Floranbee1. Good to know you were monitored. Infections, Thyroid disease, Diabetes, Incompetent cervix can cause miscarriage...You need to know if your cervix is competent to carry on pregnancy. Have you been checked for any of the above. Do you take caffeine?. Your age could also play a role in miscarriage. Other than any medical condition, it could just be unexplained....but you just have to rule out cause and keep trying. Regards. |
@bolateetoe. It is obvious that your hubby is having issues with his stuff, but a test result details will also help here. All the same you need to step up on BD to increase chances and the fact that your hubby might have issues with his stuff is more reason for you guys to double up your BD. The test I will recommend you do is Hormone profile (Fertility)..to see if you are ovulating. After then can further investigations be done..like HSG. Regards. |
@bolateetoe. Have you done any fertility profile testing? Yourself and hubby. How many times in a week do you guys meet? Anything less than 3ce a week is not helpful. If less you need to step up. Fertility testing for both of you would be helpful...before HSG. |
@Floranbee1. Sorry about your miscarriage. Were you closely monitored by your doctor during the second miscarriage? Have you had several previous pregnancy termination. Google Cervical cerclage. See your doctor for more info. Mind you there are other causes... |
