Facebook is expanding its ad network past its own borders, encompassing Internet users who don't even use the social network. The company said it's looking to improve ads, both on and off Facebook. One industry analyst said the move will enable Facebook to extend its reach in mobile advertising, and that should mean increased revenues for the world's largest social network. "Digital advertising is a very big deal," said Ezra Gottheil, an analyst with Technology Business Research. "This is actually good for advertisers, too. They don't want to show ads to people who don't want to see them. It detracts from the content site experience." The seeds of this new move started two years ago when the company launched the Facebook Audience Network, aimed at helping advertisers extend their reach beyond Facebook and into other mobile apps. With that initial effort, Facebook only showed ads on other sites to users who had their own Facebook accounts. As of this week, that's no longer the case. "Today, we're expanding Audience Network so publishers and developers can show better ads to everyone – including those who don't use or aren't connected to Facebook," wrote Andrew Bosworth, vice president of Facebook's Ads and Business Platform, in a blog post. "One of the things we've heard from people is that many of the ads they see are annoying, distracting, or misleading. We think companies can do better, and that's why we've been focused on improving ads both on and off Facebook." That means Facebook will not only be tracking its own users but also non-Facebook users. The company is expected to use cookies, the familiar "like" buttons and plug-ins embedded in participating third-party sites. Facebook, said Gottheil, will be acting somewhat like an ad broker. "They contract with advertisers and agencies to place the ads, and they contract with other sites to display them," he said. "They use tracking cookies to aim the right ads to the right people. The difference is, they also have Facebook. They have a display space for ads, and they know a lot of users." What do you think? This post is mainly for Symbian/Java Phone Users who may not own a PC/Low on Data Sub. for browsing on their PC. Today am going to show you 2 techniques to carry out when blogging from your mobile phone Using Blogger. Yes, am emphasizing mainly on bloggers using the blogger/ platform. as blogging platform doesnt currently support posting from Java/Symbian Phones using blogger.com, you'll notice that whenever you try to publish a post it keeps giving error. Incase you've been experiencing that and havent gotten a solution to that then you've come to the right Post. Simply use www.blogger.com/blog_this.pyra and holla, your post would be published Successfully without any error. Note: That's just for those that havent heard of it. So Getting over to the Topic above, am going to give 2 short techniques you can use to improve your efficiency in blogging from mobile phone. So keep reading. Blogging from Java/Symbian Phones has not been easy in the publishing aspect as you keep getting error message whenever you try to publish a Post. The www.blogger.com as you know, does not support mobile phones like Java/Symbian Phones, thereby making it hard for newby bloggers, because you can not publish a new post using your Mobil Java/symbian Phone. But you can actually do that with these simple Techniques am going to highlight below. Well, using the www.blogger.com/blog_this.pyra is a success However, it still won't allow uploading of images or inserting Links. Those are the two aspects am going to improve/throw light on today. I've learnt you are facing challenges adding images and links using www.blogger.com/blog_this.pyra . Follow the Simple procedures below; 1. Log in to www.blogger.com/blog_this.pyra *. Write your Post. 2. To insert a link you would need to insert this code below. <a href="https://www.blogger.com/your- link here">Text here</a> Note that the space for "your-link" is the web address you would like to link to, and the one for "Text" is the text you would like readers to see. Take for instance, You are linking to a post in your blog, The space for "your link" is where you would put the link for the blog post. And the title is the text you would like your readers to see. So when they click on that text, they would be automatically taken to that blog post. 2. Inserting Images Note that when trying to insert images using your mobile, it just wont upload. Use this trick below to get that done. 1. Upload the image you are going to use to either facebook or any social media networks of your choice 2. Copy the image URL i.e the image link; 3. Use this simple HTML Code <img src="http://www.image-url.jpg"> Replace the address in the above code with the address i.e. Link of the image you just copied and you are done. 4. Click publish Having difficulties with any of the above steps? Let me know. |
