The Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS) are awarded to students from selected countries for full-time master’s level studies in Sweden starting in the autumn semester 2017. The scholarships cover both living costs and tuition fees.

About 600 different study programs at Swedish universities are eligible for a scholarship. Priority will be given to applicants choosing study programmes with an emphasis on gender equality, sustainable development, democracy, human rights or poverty reduction.

The scholarship application consists of two steps, the first step will be open from 1st December 2016 – 16th January 2017, followed by a detailed second step for successful candidates from the first step, 1st – 10th February 2017.

Selection Criteria: Melbourne awarding of scholarships, is on the basis of academic merit. Factors such as relevant professional experience, refereed publications, specialist medical qualifications or composition of original music may be taken into consideration.

Scholarship Benefits:

The benefits of the Graduate Research Scholarship vary depending on the applicant’s circumstances and may include one or more of the following:

Full fee offset for up to 2 years for students undertaking a Master by research degree or up to 4 years for students undertaking a Doctoral degree.
Fortnightly living allowance for up to 2 years for students undertaking a Master by research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a Doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity and parenting leave.
Relocation grant for students moving to Melbourne from interstate or from outside Australia
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia
