The hypocritical Nigerians won't say anything when their fellow Nigerians are being slaughtered and their lands taken from them but once you say 'let's divide the country', all of them will find their voices and begin to rant. Yakubu Gowon and David Mark are very silent as Plateau and Benue people are being slaughtered. It's like it's insects that are being killed.
Tufiakwa! It sucks to be a Nigerian.

shameful everyone turning a blind eye.

Tinubu and the military forces wont go to those villages and kill those bastard terrorist,

It will bring in people and investments.
Don't you see US always accusing China of intentionally devaluing their currency?
Example, if Togo devalues their currency you'd be going there to buy stuff and vacations, but if they inflate their currency you won't go

You have almost solve the puzzle. China can float their currency because China has great export in trade than import.
If you ask tinubu if he understood the economic technicalities behind floating a currency, I believe he doesn't have a clue.
Back.

For a country to float her currency, export must be greater than import. The balance of trade must be in surplus, investment confidence in a country must be all round positive, security and local production must substitute foreign goods, etc. If all these are in place, then naira cam compete head to head with other currency

Politics / Re: Hunger Protests: Why Tinubu Can’t Govern Like Buhari By Farooq A. Kperogi by just2endowed: 3:10pm On Feb 10
Kenochi:
The Nigerian Economy is in a serious quagmire,I want to sincerely look through what prof kperogi wrote and try to dissect the problems and offer my humble suggestions

1) Increase in food stuff prices
It seems this Government is struggling to really understand why food prices are increasing on a daily basis.Even food stuff produced in Nigeria is becoming unaffordable
Solution:
Government must intervene by creating a short term measure to evacuate food from the hinterlands to the city
This will involve working with food logistics operators, subsidizing their operations where necessary
Also, state and local governments must remove all levies and taxes paid on food for now

2) Open Borders
This government must take a very bold move and open our borders, let people find food to eat
Even if it means subsidizing this food, then you should do it.
Government needs to know that there is a cabal in the food industry who buy and hoard food just like people hoard the dollars
Once an announcement is made of opening borders,it will restrain this group from further inflicting harm

3) Continue the Emefiele policy of money change
This government must give a specific timeline to change all the old currency
There is simply a lot of liquidity in the Nigerian Economy and we must begin to mop it up
Government should start by encouraging digital transactions,it should be gradual but with timelines
The low hanging fruits like petrol stations, supermarkets and even educational institutions should be encouraged to start migrating to digital transactions
There should be a reward system for organisations to embrace this process, Nigerians did transactions worth 600 trillion naira digitally in 2023 so the infrastructure is already there

There are deep reason which you fails to mention.

Have you gone to ask how much a truck of farm produce pay from benue to lagos on the road? If you know this staggering amount of illegal extortion going on, you would know why food prices will never come down. Apart from the brides and extortion driver paid, immediately their truck pass through lagos berger, massive extortion begins by security forces, agbero, area boys and name it.

Another major factor of these food prices increment is because of insecurity caused by killer bandits who destroyed farmers lands and also kidnapp and take over farm lands of farmers host communities. It's been a long problem farmers had been facing and it's now we are facing

Exactly. The umpires in this tournament was top Notch.
There was a great improvement in all aspect even when it comes to the pattern of play. Africa football has improved alot

I sometimes doesn't like epl officiating. They are too rigid and doesn't allow flow of football. If it were epl referee that officiate this tournament, a lot of yellows and red card will flowsm

Politics / Re: Budget, Agriculture Ministers Fault Subsidy Removal, Floating Of Naira by just2endowed: 7:19pm On Feb 09
finishmatter:
Exactly. This is actually one of d benefits of devaluation.

Oga it benefit neighbouring country because it make them to buy your farm produce very cheap, thereby leading to food scarcity for the locals. For this to work, you must have surplus export over import so that it will encourage neighbourinf country to buy cheap.

But in a situation where your import is greater than your export and you went to devalue your currency, the few export u had will be fleet upon by your neighbouring countries or the international market, which will lead to scarcity for local consumption produce.

I hope I break everything down very well for you. Before you devalue, there are economics effect for it.

I was analysing all the effects of the devaluation of the naira. People around west aftican are tripping in Nigeria in mass to buy cheap produce because once they brought in there currency, they can buy many things.

Naira under APC is now worthless

Originalsly how insincere can your leaders be, lying and trying to play games with Nigerians over and over?

This was my comment months ago stating that a lot of crude had been sold in advance, something that was common knowledge, but here are your leaders claiming they only realized recently

That's the major reason for dollar scarcity. Nigeria is now supplying fuel to his creditors as means of repayments.

Buhari really finished Nigeria off.

Be informed that the local government issues tickets to these poor traders to sell their wares near the rail tracks.
The traders pay the local government daily taxes to be allowed to sell their wares in that location.

U mean agbero ticket. Go and check that ticket and where the revenue is going. They are all going to private pocket. Agbero rule lagos here and I can systematically classify them as bandit because of the fear they will bring to traders that fails to pay
