you’re right, Tennis is a simple sport but Betting on tennis is hard, just like every other sports. even after analysis it still boils down to LUCK. funny thing is you may be looking at 1.1 odds on a player as sure win, but the player himself is eyeing the 7 odds on his opponent trust me, understanding how the game works will help you cut down unnecessary losses.

rank matters but not so much, a lot of things can affect match outcomes; individual skills of player (serve, forehand, volley etc) preferred court type (hard, clay etc), level of fitness/ presence of fatigue (a top player who has been on tour for like 3-months in a row will definitely get tired and might start losing to lower ranked players..also a player who is back from injury will need to play for some time to fully adjust ), determination to win (e.g players who won the tournament the previous year have ranking points to defend else they lose points & go down in ranking+earn lesser prize money...also players playing in their home country tend to have backing of the crowd and advantage against there visiting opponents)...also pray to avoid match-fixers who just come and fix games to earn themselves money (e.g Nicolas Kicker, Oliver Anderson etc) and finally a great amount of LUCK to get your predictions right!!

lol, exactly..you can always get higher odds inplay. example an event that theoretically happens 4 out of 5 times is given odds of 1.20, but in play due to the flow of the game odds can get up to 2.00-3.00 odds on the same event which is VALUE. more profitable staking on possible come-backs of strong favorites. Many players do it all the time, lose 1st set and then win the match easily.
