A 🇺🇸 US warship and a Navy supply vessel collided during refueling on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing a military spokesman. The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Truxtun and the Supply-class fast combat support ship USNS Supply collided during a replenishment-at-sea, causing injuries to two people, the WSJ said.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report. US Southern Command did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
While the cause of the collision was not yet clear, the incident was under investigation, the journal added, citing Southern Command spokesman Colonel Emmanuel Ortiz.
Both ships had reported that they could continue sailing safely, Ortiz said. Jerusalem Post || Reuters

Foreign Affairs › Iran Seizes 2 Western Oil Tankers & Detains 15 Foreign Crew Members (Photos) by Kaliningrad(op): 2:37pm On Feb 05 |
🇮🇷 Iran's Revolutionary Guards have seized two oil tankers with their foreign crews in Gulf waters for "smuggling fuel," the Tasnim news agency reported Thursday. The seizures took place amid heightened tension after Washington dispatched a naval group to the region following Tehran's deadly response to anti-government protests.
"More than one million litres of smuggled fuel were found on board of the two vessels," Tasnim reported, and a total of "15 foreign crew members were referred to the judiciary."
The Guards captured the vessels near Iran's Farsi island in the Gulf, the agency said.
Iranian forces regularly target tankers that Tehran accuses of being part of the illicit trade in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments.
The seizure is the the latest in a series of similar incidents in recent months. Al Arabiya || Gulf News

Foreign Affairs › Re: U.S Returns Seized Oil Tanker To Venezuela (Photos) by Kaliningrad(op): 4:29pm On Jan 29 |
BlackViper: Abi o. Now that Maduro can no longer use oil to fund his criminal enterprise, Venezuela can have its tanker back So why did they seize the tankers in the first place?
And why are they still seizing more tankers. Maduro is no longer President.
They seized 7 tankers weeks after Maduro was kidnapped.
Why? |
