delpee:In Igbo culture, a woman is buried in her husbands place at death. The only people I heard their women are returned at death are the Binis, though I don't know if its true. But in Igbo culture that I am aware of, a woman who's bride price was paid cannot be returned to the fathers house at death. Never heard of such in Igbo land. As for GRV, APC is an evil gathering. That party turned an election into a tribal competition when they realized they have nothing to campaigned with and almost dragged Lagos into a dangerous road that would have had serious consequences. The only offence GRV committed was that he came out to contest Lagos governorship election like any other yoruba man. But APC used tribalism to rob him of his birthright. |

Padipadi:I will agree with you where you are right and disagree where you wrong. 1. On what you said here about the first coup, you are very much right and I am happy you understand it was tagged Igbo coup even though it's not so. On a personal level i will tell you i am not satisfied with the fact that Zik & Okpara was spared which made it look like it's an Igbo coup but i also read somewhere that there was a particular officer assigned to carry out that assignment who failed on his duty in the coup and that officer if my memory served me right wasn't Igbo. But all that activities was a doing of a youthful military officers who wanted to right some wrongs but got it all wrong in the end. The most unfortunate thing now is that the war did not end after 1970, the war has continued till date. The promises made by Gowon was not kept. The FG controlled by the North and assisted by the West, has continued to do whatever it will take to keep the SE down. Where do I start, FG presence is almost non-existent in the East. 2. Concerning the issue of Jamb & Mmesoma. I have already addressed that previously where i made it clear that nobody supported her knowing she was the one in the wrong but for the fact that Nigeria and it's institutions of government cannot be trusted by the Igbo for anything based on the disposition of FG towards the Igbo. 3. On the issue of Lagos election. You are very wrong and I am beginning to see that you're an APC member. Yet your membership of the party notwithstanding, discussion with you have been worth the while. I want you to understand that Nigeria have a constitution, and no matter how questionable the characters that made the such constitution it is still our only legal guide. So you must note that the right of Igbos in Lagos is well spelt out and the APC whose only area of strength lie in Tribal sentiment and provocation cannot rewrite the constitution that has guaranteed the freedom of every Nigerian to exercise their civic rights wherever they are in the country. If a APC wants to change what is written in the constitution they have to do so through constitutional amendment because anything outside that will lead to a very serious problem that will not favour anyone. |

Cryofigbos:Lol! Bla bla bla... I don't know how your culture works yet its said no culture is wrong as culture is culture. Now in Igbo culture, let me inform you, a woman's place is with her husband. I don't know if its same in Yoruba culture. So when a married Igbo woman goes to visit her parents and the night is approaching, her own people will remind her that night is coming so she can start her journey back to her home which is now her husbands place. Akeredolu married his wife and I certain he paid her bride price. So in Igbo culture Mrs Akeredolu ceases to be an Imo woman but an Ondo woman in life and in death. That's what marriage is all about. That is why bride price is paid on a woman in Igbo culture, in fact it is the most important in any marriage in Igbo culture without which you cannot claim to have married an Igbo woman. So it was when the yorubas in ondo did not allow Mrs Akeredolu to contest in her constituency in ondo state where she rightly belonged just like you lots did to GRV in Lagos that she decided to run back to her father's house but the Igbos there being cultural conscious reminded her that her husband has yet to come to ask them to return her bride price and for that reason her place is yet with her husband. I hope you have learnt a lot about Igbo culture today? In Igbo culture a man belongs to his fathers family no matter who his mother was so long a bride price was paid on his mother. And a woman belongs in her husband place so long he paid her bride price. Don't worry about paying me for this tutorial, its free! 1 Like |

AntiZikist:Wow! Pls clap for yourself...kpa kpa.. kpa kpa kpa...kpa! I am happy you're professor of Jewish history! Now I am sure you know how much influence the Jews have around the world order today? I am also glad you have likened the Igbo as Jews of Africa. That should tell you and your co-travellers in conspiratorial hatred and envious scheming that no matter how you try, no matter what you do, either collectively as a tribe or as a nation or government, the Igbo as a tribe will always be ahead. Because God has given them something that cannot be taken away no matter what you do no matter how you try, you can only love to hate them but you can never stop to admire them. Just take a look at the people you're conspiring against. War was fought on their land for 3years, just 2 old Igbo states against the rest of the country, their monies in the bank were denied them and only 20pounds given, some of theirs properties were taken over, you got free education but they didn't, the North have ruled the country now for over 50years yet their people are today the poorest, even though you got free education the people who came out of war have overtaken you all academically. If you think people with divine grace and mandate like this Igbos can be stopped by mortals then you need to have your head examined. 3 Likes |

Jogs1900:2things I picked from your comment. 1 is your question, why am I like this? Pls how am I? The truth should be told even the Bible said Truth sets us free and take it from me, only truth will save this country from doom. And that is why God will Bless Seun for creating this forum that has allowed us all to stop pretending and be who we really are. Our tribalism envy and hatred towards each other did not start today. And politicians have always capitalized on tribalism to whatever they want whenever they see fit. Awolowo used it against Zik when it was obvious Zik was about to beat him to Lagos house. Tinubu used it when he saw that nothing else will work for him. Sawolu used it against GRV when he saw the results of Presidential election. So pls let us stop the pretence already and tell ourselves the bitter truth. 2. You said GRV is not an indegent lagosian. Pls furnish me with his ancestry and while at it tell me how many indegent lagosian who have ruled Lagos. I even thanked God you didn't say GRV is an Igbo man like your hardcore APC people claimed. In fact let me tell you this for free, the real people stolking tribal confrontations between Igbos and yorubas are not indegent lagosians but Yoruba people from different SW states who now claim to be lagosians because they have overwhelmed the real owners of Lagos. 15 Likes 1 Share |

OP the emptiness in your head would not grasp what's in the meme! About the meme? I think it's good we stop intermarriage between Yoruba and Igbos since a Yoruba man from an Igbo mother would be disinherited from becoming governor or king through orchestrated campaigns of tribalism and hatred by his fellow yorubas as was the case of GRV who is even an indegent lagosian 54 Likes 5 Shares |

Even though Tinubu robbed him of his mandate, I am proud of him. This goes to show that Obi supporters are hard working Nigerians unlike Tinubu supporters who are either pickpockets, cutthroatts, thieves and touts. We can all see he has a source of livelihood unlike Tinubu supporters. Now what and what have Bulaba done with the stolen mandate besides creating hardships than he met and going abroad to snap pictures without the coherence to address the international community on his plans to appropriate our commonwealth because that is all he has come to do. While his damned godforsaken supporters pervade Nairaland with various propagandas in empty stomach harping on hopelessness. 402 Likes 40 Shares |

Padipadi:I have read almost all that was written about the war including memoirs by foreign jonarlists and some surviving officers who were part of the coup who are actually Yoruba. The fact that your FG removed history from the curriculum is because they decide its the only way they can hide the truth concerning their atrocities before and during the war. And I also know for certain that in fair fight the North can never beat the East. I tell you that for free. It was a war between almost only Two old Igbo states and the rest of Nigeria whom was even assited by Britain and Egyptian pilots. And yet we fought gallantly with mostly self made weapons. Now having said that, I want you to get something clear here. The case of Mmesoma and Jamb is a wake up call to Nigeria, its institutions and Nigerians that the Igbo man as a tribe do not have any form of trust in the Nigerian system and government. And they are very much right in that direction and I as a person I am very glad that my people have come to see Nigeria and its institutions for what they truly are. Nobody will support Mmesoma if they knew she forged her results which was why the state government has to set up a panel of about seven profs to investigate the matter because there is an Igbo proverb that says you have to chase away the hawk before blaming the mother hen for bringing her chicks outside. Igbo have only themselves to defend them and they are not taking chances. I was in Abuja during Endsars when some hausas attacked Igbos and their business in Apo Mechanic...properties were destroyed but Igbos stood their ground and fought them fire for fire, death for death. Letting them understand its no longer business as usual when they would come and destroy their businesses and kill them and get away with it. No, because this time they burnt Igbo car stands and the Igbo boys in turn set their markets on fire, and they killed some Igbo boys and the Igbos also killed some of their boys. Of course Igbos did lost more in that fight because the Hausa market they burnt cannot be compared to the cars at the carstand the hausas destroyed but the message was well received which is the fact that you can no longer destroy our property and not get killed and your properties too destroyed. As to the issue of respect Igbo have not disrespected any tribe and do not owe any tribe any form of respect. Respect is a mutual exchange. You respect igbos they also respect you! But if you think you're doing the Igbos a favour as a Yoruba tribe because some of them are living and doing business in Lagos then you are the one disrespecting Igbos and should start respecting them as a partner in development, because while Lagos is not our homeland our impact in its development cannot be denied and should not be underplayed. 1 Like |

Padipadi:I needed to cut off the war story and the rest without having to read through knowing fully its your own version. Firstly Chief, I am well read on the story and incidents around the war both before during and after the war. The fact that you started by saying Igbo coup in itself was a sign that the rest of your story about the war is false and half truths and some cases blatant lie and propaganda. Mark my words bro, the Igbo tribe in Nigeria has every reason to distrust Nigeria and every of its institutions and its going to remain so probably as long as nigeria will last. Let me surprise you now! Do you know that majority of people believe that what is happening in the SE today is orchestrated by the Nigerian government? Yes that's a fact. And I believe it too. Have you ever asked yourselves one honest question like how come its so very easy for your FG to open all the prisons in the North, released major and high ranking BH terrorists, give them money and put some of them into the military, and for once never brought any of them to justice irrespective of all the killings they publicly carried out? Yet and yet, MNK whom the government have absolutely nothing on, read my lips absolutely nothing, and have been freed severaly by your own courts is still in holding. Pls try to be honest to yourself and you will know that Mmesoma case is not just about Mmesoma, its about what Nigeria is to Igbo, a country that is tilted to favour some disfavor others. A country built on deception, mediocrity, oppression and injustice! It might favour your tribe today, but a day of reckoning lay ahead for us all, as anything built on injustice never succeeds nor will it lastfor long. 1 Like |

Then you are now suprised when these same characters invade nairaland to persecute jamb candidate, because she is not from Tinubu family.
