Ade Adesomoju, Abuja The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday ordered the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and directed that his trial on charges of treasonable felony should proceed in his absence. The judge, Justice Binta Nyako, whose decision was anchored on the provisions of Section 352(4) of the Administrative of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, said Kanu had failed to appear in court since April 25, 2017 without any reasonable explanation. The lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Magaji Labaran, applied for the court’s orders earlier in the Thursday’s proceedings. Kanu’s lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, had opposed Labaran’s oral application, and had asked to be given more time to explain why his client had not been in court by filing all necessary papers. He insisted that Kanu’s disappearance was as a result of soldiers’ invasion of the IPOB leader’s home in Afara-Ukwu near Umuahia, Abia State, during military’s ‘Operation Python Dance II’ staged to quell agitation for a Republic of Biafra. But the judge, noting that she had, in a judgment on a civil suit filed by Kanu, held that there was no nexus between the said military invasion and the IPOB leader’s disappearance, overruled the objection, insisting that the request for explanation of the defendant’s absence in court was belated. The judge, who also noted that Kanu had violated the conditions and terms of the bail granted him, recalled that after the defendant was granted bail on April 17, 2017, the following proceedings of July 11, 2017 could not hold due to the court’s vacation. She also recalled that on October 17, 2017 Kanu also failed to appear in court with his lawyer, who claimed that the defendant’s absence from court was caused by the invasion of his home in Abia State by soldiers. The judge also noted that the three persons who had guaranteed his bail had applied to the court to withdraw their suretyship because they could not account for his whereabouts. She noted that on March 28, 2018, Kanu’s trial was separated from that of his four other co-defendants in order to avoid delays of the other persons’ trial. She added that on November 14, 2018, she ordered that the sureties should temporarily forfeit their N100m bail bonds or produce Kanu in court. The judge added that, since the time Kanu’s trial was separated from that of others, there were four court sessions that held and were adjourned without Kanu attending any. “Proceedings must end one way or the other,” Justice Nyako said. She added, “I have given the counsel for the defendant more than enough time to produce him in court. Therefore, by virtue of Section 252(4) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, the only option open to do is to order that the trial will continue in his absence. Also, in the absence of any reasonable explanation for his absence, I hereby revoke his bail and order that a bench warrant be issued for his arrest.” She fixed June 18 for trial to commence with or without Kanu’s presence in court. Since last year, Kanu has been seen making appearances online; and was, at a time, said to be on a religious pilgrimage to Israel. Kanu’s lawyer, Ejiofor, has vowed to appeal the court’s ruling for his client’s arrest and trial in absentia. Source : https://punchng.com/breaking-court-orders-nnamdi-kanus-arrest/amp/ Lalasticala

Abortion laws around the globe 01:39 (CNN)A new Arkansas law will let a husband sue a doctor to stop his wife from getting a particular type of abortion. And it makes no exception for cases of spousal rape. The law, called the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection From Dismemberment Abortion Act, was passed and signed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and goes into effect later this year. It prohibits dismemberment abortion, the most common procedure used in second-trimester abortions. A clause in the law states that the husband of a woman getting the abortion can sue the doctor to stop his wife’s abortion. The husband has to be the father of the child. And because there’s no exemption in the law for rape or incest, a woman’s rapist could theoretically file suit to stop the abortion. The ACLU of Arkansas claims the law is unconstitutional and plans to challenge it in court before it goes into effect. One Arkansas lawmaker said there wasn’t much debate about those parts of the law. “It was not something that was talked about on the Senate floor,” state Sen. Joyce Elliott told CNN affiliate KARK. “If we cannot make headway on something like an exception for rape and incest, I think it just felt kind of fruitless to make some sense out of the rest of what was in the bill.” Elliott added, “They don’t see the outrage in constantly putting the thumb on women to dictate what they can do and not do.” But another lawmaker believes husbands should have a voice in these decisions. “I think a woman does have control over her own body, but when you have created a life, you created a life with someone else,” said state Sen. Missy Irvin. Kansas and Oklahoma passed similar abortion laws, which are tied up in the courts, according to CNN affiliate KFSM. A few states, with conservative lawmakers emboldened by President Donald Trump’s election, have passed strict new abortion laws, including Ohio, which passed a measure banning abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. http://braindianaija.com/new-law-lets-husbands-sue-stop-wives-abortion/

Huawei has proven they can make great phones with various devices like the Nexus 6P. So with the Mate 9 out in the US, people are expecting something great. Has Huawei lived up to the challenge? There are a ton of things to love about the Mate 9. The Chinese manufacturer has definitely done well in creating a cheaper alternative to Google’s Pixel that actually comes close in performance. One of the most important parts of the phone is the hardware. The Mate 9 is just beautiful. The all-metal build looks and feels solid. The finish on all sides of the device is just all around gorgeous. The top of the phone houses an audio jack, which obviously isn’t anything special, but a comfort to see, nonetheless. The bottom houses a USB Type-C port and a bottom facing speaker, which isn’t what most people want, so Huawei did something interesting. They made the earpiece into a speaker, as well — just like Apple’s iPhone 7. Moving on, the volume rockers are on the right side along with the power button. Both are nice and tactile. MVI_1388.MOV.00_00_07_09.Still001-340x213@2x The fingerprint sensor is something special. It’s on the back, much like with Huawei’s other phones, and it’s fast. It’s surprisingly fast. So fast that you barely have to touch the sensor at all for it to be read successfully. More than 90% of the time, the sensor will read your finger successfully and accurately. This is, in my opinion, one of the best fingerprint sensors to date. READ MORE =http://braindianaija.com/huawei-mate-9-review/

A baby born to a man but he was actually a woman who also got pregnant by a woman who was actually a man. Well that’s what the title says and by now you are thoroughly confused as I was. This isn’t a riddle but a true event and here’s the couple who made such a confusing sentence happen. Imagine the complexity of such a situation which when made simple reads a transgender married a transgender and they had a baby. That’s the real story. 1 The transgender couple have made history Fernando Machado an Ecuadorian transgender initially a woman was made pregnant by partner now Diane Rodriguez who was born a man. Isn’t that something remarkable? Well it is confusing no doubt and seeks to question the very essence of evolution but then that’s progress for you. The couple made news and possibly history when the father gave birth in June last year impregnated by the transgender mother. The couples have finally opened up to the media after becoming South America’s first transgender couple to have a baby. http://braindianaija.com/first-history-man-delivers-baby-impregnated-wife-man/

Can you do without your Wi-Fi?? The answer is obviously no and the only other time you may think of changing it is to get a better device. Modern society is fine tuned to the internet which is now an integral part of life. Progress in technology had made devices like Wi-Fi affordable in every household and you have greater access to the net even while in bed. But! Have you ever thought about the implications of Wi-Fi and how it may be posing a health hazard for you and your family? 1 How Wi-Fi affects your health Regardless of whether technology companies indulge in the highest standards of safety norms, you need to understand the dangers of Wi-Fi and how it could affect the health of you and your kids. Wi-Fi devices are connected through electromagnetic waves that broadcast WLAN signals to all communicative devices such as laptops, mobile phones and desktops. It is these signals in forms of loops that can create health problems.
