Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has a full complement of players to choose from when Tottenham host rivals Arsenal this weekend. Spurs have no injuries to contend with heading into Saturday's match, when they can also welcome back Nabil Bentaleb. The midfielder has been away at the African Nations Cup but has returned following Algeria's early exit, while Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul and Etienne Capoue could be involved in the squad after deadline-day moves did not materialise. Ahead of the derby showdown Pochettino expressed his admiration for long-serving Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger. "It is difficult for me to imagine the next season, so 18 years - woah," he said. "This is why I admire so much Arsene because it's not easy for a manager to stay in the same place a lot of time like him." Pochettino also admires the "perfect" balance Wenger has struck between young players, current stars and experienced older heads. "We need to settle the basis for the future," the Spurs head coach added. "When the new stadium comes, we need more income, more business, very good for our fans, nice stadium. "It's all much better, but we are focused on the present too. We have a plan for the present and for the long-term. This is what the people need to know. "Football is present because Saturday is a big game for us. It's no more than Saturday, and for our supporters too. "We need to understand that we need to get the good results now to develop in a very good way our future, like a club." Wenger revealed leading scorer Alexis Sanchez feels he can defy the doctors and tackle Tottenham, but will not risk further injury to his star man. The 18-goal Chile forward missed last weekend's 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa with a hamstring strain, but has stepped up his rehabilitation. Wenger, though, suggested he was likely to err on the side of caution. "Alexis wants to have a go today, but I think he is too short," Wenger said. "He wants to play, of course, he is very keen. He feels he can defy the medical people because he is so keen to play that he thinks he can get over strains." Wenger added: "I don't know yet, I need medical advice on that, and I need to see what he can do in training as well." Despite the fitness concerns over Sanchez, England forward Danny Welbeck is in line to make a return after being out since December 28 with a thigh problem. http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/match/395544/tottenham-hotspur-arsenal/preview |

Nemanja Matic knows a repeat of Chelsea's rout of Everton in August is unlikely when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. The Serb was among the goalscorers as the Barclays Premier League leaders beat Roberto Martinez's side 6-3 in an exhilarating encounter at Goodison Park. Chelsea have gone from strength to strength since that victory and head into the midweek encounter with a seven- point lead at the top of the table after they won 2-1 at Aston Villa on Saturday and Manchester City drew 1-1 with Hull City. Everton are down in 12th after a goalless Merseyside derby draw with Liverpool and head to the capital looking for a first triumph at Chelsea since 1994. Matic is not expecting Everton to be so vulnerable defensively as at Goodison. "Now at home we have to win," Matic told chelseafc.com. "We know that it is also going to difficult but if we want to be champions we have to win. Everton is not the kind of team to concede six. "They did against us but not again so we just want to win, it doesn't matter if it is with six goals or 1-0, we just need three points." Jose Mourinho claimed that his team’s seven-point advantage is "nothing" and Matic echoed his manager's sentiments. "We have many games to the end and only a seven points lead, because Manchester City are a very good team, they will fight to the end and we will see at the end,” he said. "We are in a good way at the moment and we will try to keep like this but it is a long way to go." Diego Costa scored twice in Chelsea's win at Goodison Park, but the Spain striker will be missing, serving the last tie of a three-match ban. Midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to return after missing the last two matches with a hamstring injury, but it remains to be seen if Filipe Luis (calf) is available to return. Romelu Lukaku will be eager to make an impact in his first appearance at Stamford Bridge since his move to Everton from Chelsea was made permanent last July. Martinez will be hoping Leighton Baines (knee) can return after missing the derby, but Aiden McGeady will miss out with a knee problem sustained in training. The game may also come too soon for Steven Pienaar (knee), while Leon Osman (foot) and Tim Howard (calf) are still sidelined. http://m.premierleague.com/en-gb/matches/2014-2015/epl.summary.html/chelsea-vs-everton |

Captain Ron Vlaar could return for Aston Villa against Chelsea in Saturday's Barclays Premier League match after resuming training this week. The defender has been sidelined with a knee injury since limping out against Crystal Palace on New Year's Day. Philippe Senderos is likely to sit out again with his calf problem and Libor Kozak continues to recover from a broken leg but Joe Cole may make the squad after a hamstring injury. Christian Benteke has been watching video nasties after boss Paul Lambert revealed they have gone back to basics to revive his season. The striker has bagged just two league goals this term after returning from a ruptured Achilles in October. Villa have failed to score in 10 hours and 12 minutes in the league - since Benteke netted against Manchester United in December. But the striker has struggled since and has been studying videos with the Villa coaching staff of where he can improve in a bid to rescue his form. Lambert said: "He has looked at them himself, it's not something which has gone unnoticed by anyone. We look at them and show him things. It will make him stronger. "He is not naive, he knows what's going on. The big thing is to help him and help the team get him back to where he was. "He could well be (watching videos at home), but we have sat with him as staff and showed him things he can improve on." Deadline day signing Juan Cuadrado could make his Chelsea and fit again playmaker Cesc Fabregas could also feature for the leaders. Filipe Luis (calf) remains out, alongside the suspended Diego Costa, who serves the second of his three-match ban for his stamp on Liverpool's Emre Can. Jose Mourinho could be tempted to restore Petr Cech in goal after Thibaut Courtois' uncharacteristic mistake in the build-up to Manchester City's equaliser last Saturday, while Kurt Zouma is again likely to start in defence ahead of Gary Cahill. Mourinho spoke publicly for the first time in 10 days on Friday and refused to hide his simmering resentment towards the media over Costa's suspension. The Blues boss, who risked a Premier League fine for avoiding media duties either side of last weekend's draw with City, was unhappy with the portrayal of the challenge between Costa and Can. Asked why he had not spoken to the media since immediately after advancing to the Capital One Cup final at Liverpool's expense on January 27, Mourinho said: "Because if you (the media) want, you can make a silence very noisy. Depends what you want to do. "You could make noise with my silence, because you know the reason for my silence. It depends on you. If I was a journalist I could make from silence, lots of words." Mourinho in December spoke of a "clear campaign" against his side. He was fined B£25,000 the day after the Liverpool win for those comments. Asked if the reason for his absence was because of Costa's suspension Mourinho, who chose not to discuss the incident, said: "Not just (Costa's ban). I don't reflect. Maybe I'm punished to reflect. "Maybe they (football's authorities) can read my reflection and (that) I don't want." Managers are required to speak before and after matches under Premier League broadcast regulations. Mourinho, who often wears a smile but did not on Friday, added: "You know why I'm here so you cannot expect that I'm super happy to be here." Mourinho responded "yes" when asked if he was in attendance because he was required to be. He risks a fine from the Premier League for his absence, although possibly not as big a financial penalty as the one which he would likely have been subjected to had he spoken around the City clash. "You know the only surprise I had in relation to that was to be punished when I was pushed by another manager (Arsenal's Arsene Wenger)," Mourinho said. "Apart from that I can expect everything." http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/match/395545/aston-villa-chelsea/preview |
