Notice how it is written wife, and not wives.

While I believe in the ideal of one man, one woman and I am against polygamous form of family, the Bible shows us a different story. Figures like David, Solomon,job, joshua, caleb, Moses, and Abraham had multiple wives, yet God still loved and valued them. The debate over one wife or many can go either way. In the context of praying for our enemies, you need to Understand we have 2 kinds of enemies the physical ones and the spiritual ones. You can't pray and love your spiritual enemies cos the have come to steal and destroy rather you battle them and don't give them breathing space or else they will destroy you and your entire generation, quoted from the scripture "we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities". You destroy them before they destroy you. The part you quoting is meant for our physical enemies those that betrayed us or harmed us physically those are the ones you pray for and forgive.
