As we countdown to Saturday, March 18 House of Assembly elections, it is important that Edo people recognize the common enemy that stands in the way of their unity and progress. The hydra-headed monster, who in his undying obsession with power has continued to set up illustrious Edo sons against themselves, repressed others and is sowing discord among the people in order to advance his own selfish political interests.

Mischievously tactical, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the real enemy of Edo people. He picks up a fight to destroy a person over personal differences and his selfish political interests and whips up ethnic sentiments in defense of his unjust cause.

What has Governor Godwin Obaseki done in Edo they ask?

We start training of 10,000 Civil and Public Servants tomorrow in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service, Edo State.

As an Ugoneki woman who came from the private sector to join Government, one of the things that sold this role for me was the Governor’s focus on education.

Poverty is weaponised in Nigeria. When politicians keep you in the dark, they can buy your vote with only 5,000 Naira less than 10 USD every 4 years.

However, when you receive an education, you are forever free from mental slavery.

This week we will start off with an Introduction to Project Management Course, which will be brought to us by the Project Management Institute, Nigeria Chapter. Our workers are excited and so am I.

At a time when knowledgeable people can japa legally, we are upskilling and retooling our workforce. Think about the multiplier effects of this singular act.

The following is a summary of the achievements of the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki in providing infrastructure in Edo State public primary and secondary Schools. This is purely an infrastructural piece, the reforms in the schools in terms of policies, personnel recruitment, and others will be covered in the next piece.


Here they are:


✓ 2,682 classrooms renovated

✓ 204 classrooms constructed

✓ 95 water boreholes built

✓ 32 fences constructed

✓ 76 generator sets provided

✓ 1,119 toilets (units) constructed

✓ 122,152.43 square meters of roofing installed

✓ 105,725.00 square meters of floor tiles laid

✓ 29,560 pupils/student furnitures provided

✓ 696 set of ECCDE furnitures supplied
