Family / Re: My Fiancée Called Off Our Wedding With Four Days To Go by KillahPriest: 12:44pm On May 08
PrayWills:
Our court wedding was supposed to be on Friday. I caught her telling a married man I love you and calling each other all sweet names. I confronted her and she said she was telling of proving to me she was faithful that I should draw whatever conclusions I wanted to.

I went to work on Monday and came back and told her I wanted to pause the weeding until we could sort our issues and she said we should call it off totally.

As we speak she has moved back to her mom’s house with the two kids, what do I do?

PS: she was raised by a single mom
you dodged a bullet, single mom mentality is in her. Even if you guys settle tomorrow (assuming this story is true) , she'll still pack out at the next major/minor argument. Your best bet is to lick your wounds quietly and focus on providing for those kids. I have the perfect therapy to calm your heart down but it might sound irresponsible. Be glad she exposed this red flag before marriage and maybe you should also run a DNA test just to be sure cool

Politics / Re: Recolonize Africa Is The New Call In The West by KillahPriest: 10:15am On May 08
oglalasioux:
Your fear is for the West not to recolonize us so they won’t take our natural resources.

1. As a black African, if you are left with your natural resources do you know what to do with it? Can you process it? In all history did Black Africans even know the uses of what they have before the White man came?

2. It’s nearly 65 years since independence from Britain. Millions of Africans have acquired Western education since then. But we still can’t do anything to process our natural resources. Of what use is it to us then? Why shouldn’t the West that knows what to do with it take it?

3. You are celebrating kicking out France from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic, right? Don’t worry. These countries are going the part of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe kicked out White people and nationalized their lands. That country went from being the food basket of the world to a failed state today.

4. As black Africans, we prefer a few politicians to steal our common patrimony than allow people who can help us. Same way we’ll vote along ethnic and tribal lines than who has the zeal to make positive changes.

5. Give China the opportunity to govern Nigeria for just 10 years and you’ll see progress we can’t achieve in 200 years.

6. End Wokeness! Black Africa must be recolonized!
smh undecided you limited thinkers are the problem, so much book and grammar yet no sense

*BAMIDELE OLUMILUA UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNLOGY, IKERE-EKITI*

May 7, 2024.

*RE-A VIRAL VIDEO OF BULLYING OF A FEMALE STUDENT IN BOUESTI*

It has come to our attention that a disturbing incident involving some students of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has surfaced on social media platforms. A video showing one Miss Opemiposi Precious BOLAJI, an 18 year old 100L Mass Communication student beating her colleague identified as Miss Gloria AJAYI, a 100L Mass Communication student, in a private hostel outside the University campus has gone viral.

In accordance with our institution's policies and extant regulations, the students who were captured in the viral video, appeared before the Students' Disciplinary Committee at its emergency meeting held on Monday, May 6, 2024 for interrogations and appropriate recommendations, the report of which has been submitted to the University authorities.

The University authorities condemn in strong terms, any form of violence or misconduct in our University or by any of our constituents. Such behaviour is entirely inconsistent with the values we uphold and the standards of respect and dignity that we expect from all members of our University.

Having considered the report and recommendations of the Students' Disciplinary Committee, the University authorities have taken the following decisions:

1. Miss Opemiposi Precious BOLAJI with Matriculation No. 10232, a 100L Mass Communication student who was beating her colleague with a stick and threatening to inflict bodily harm on her for allegedly destroying her 3-year old love affair with her boyfriend was found guilty of misconduct and flagrant breach of her matriculation oath and consequently EXPELLED with immediate effect.

2. Miss Genesis OSARO, a 100L Mass Communication student with Matriculation No. 10257, who provided the stick with which Gloria AJAYI was beaten, was found guilty of misconduct (as an accomplice) and flagrant breach of her Matriculation oath and consequently EXPELLED with immediate effect.

3. Miss Gloria AJAYI, a 100L Mass Communication student with Matriculation No. 10295, who was seen being beaten in the viral video but did not retaliate or engage in fisticuffs with her tormentors, was EXONERATED.

4. The duo of Miss Mistura Eniola ADEJUWON with Matriculation No. 10435 and Miss Precious Oluwapelumi OLANREWAJU with Matriculation No. 11126, who gleefully recorded the video and posted on social media were WARNED and advised to always report such incident to the Directorate of Students' Affairs and the Security Unit of the University rather than excalating it on social media.

5. Mr. Olawale AJEWOLE, a 200L Mass Communication student with Matriculation No. 6021 was EXONERATED for making efforts to lock Miss Gloria AJAYI inside a room to prevent further beating.

The University will like to reiterate its zero tolerance for all forms of indiscipline and avowed commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members of the University community. We encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences any form of harassment, abuse or violence against any student to report it immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Moving forward, we will continue to prioritize the well-being and safety of our University community. We will also reinforce our efforts to educate and promote respectful and responsible behaviour among our students.

We appreciate the concerns expressed by well-meaning individuals that justice must be served and culprits sanctioned.

the animal will tell her people at home that the hundreds of thousands of naira used in acceptance and school fees for her have been flushed down the shalanga over a boyfriend that was only sowing his wild oats and they shouldn't be angry , the other föols will say it's only stick and video recording that they donated. This is what happens when parents leave the upbringing of their kids to social media and satellite tv subscriptions instead of being hands on. Everybody will learn their lessons by force at least, they're all superstars now grin

you should know that it's compulsory for those people to be mad and stupîd at the same time. Do you know the diplomatic implications of these allegations if they're found out to be true ? Whatever case against them is automatically dead because in the eyes of the world, this is a lure for ransom operation involving foreign nationals as victims. What if they issue an international advisory to potential investors tomorrow ? I pray it's not true and the federal government should commence investigations into these allegations immediately

This sounds just like kidnapping for ransom. The Federal government must not sweep these allegations under the carpet, the implications are embarrassing generally and problematic diplomatically

DeLaRue:
Why can’t the government simply ban cryptocurrencies in Nigeria.

Make it illegal and a strict liability offence for banks and other financial institutions.

Any bank found hosting any customer account dealing in crypto currency is liable to prosecution leading to a big fine upon conviction. As a strict liability offence, it would be irrelevant whether or not the bank was aware an account was being used for crypto.

The crypto thing is mostly delusional hot air.

To the poster who says he receives crypto for services he renders. Fair enough, but you are unfortunately in the minority. Most crypto activities are about trading and moving stolen public funds out of the country. These are the people being targeted by the CBN.

The government has a legitimate right to protect the interest of the country whether or not some agree.

Consequences. People spend good money to put up a structure and buy quality fittings then someone else comes in to steal from there like it's his father's property. The law is pretty straightforward but he should have also plead for leniency as a first time offender (?) since he's an adult and he would have gotten an option of fine. He should ride Keke or korope, save enough money and learn a well paying skill since his parents can't obviously take care of him
