The 2020 WASSCE will begin on Monday, August 17. The examination will end on Saturday, September 20. The timetable for the examination was released by WAEC on Tuesday, August 4.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Tuesday, August 4, released the timetable for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

WAEC on its official Twitter page called on students not to patronise those who publish other versions of the said timetable. The council's head of public affairs, Demiaus Ojijiegu, disclosed that the examination will begin on Monday, August 17, and expected to end on Saturday, September 20.

The spokesperson in a phone interview on Tuesday night said the timetable has been sent to the candidates and the schools.

Job Description:
Our client, a global brand represented in major countries all over the world is recruiting Computer Engineers for its sub-regional offices in a 7-month SAP trainee IT-HELPDESK SUPPORT program!
Applicants are expected to be graduates of Computer Engineering or Information and Communication Technology who will be trained on SAP enterprise solutions.
IT-work experience of at least 2 years in a structured company is required!

Competencies:

Desktop support knowledge
Networking – TCP/IP knowledge
Installing new hardware or desktop platforms
Adding peripheral equipment
Rolling out large scale upgrades
Ensure asset management and timely refreshment of IT equipment and software.
Windows OS/Active Directory, Citrix, Remote applications, MS office, Internet skills.

Other Responsibilities:

Receive and record technical and/or application support calls from end users.
Provide investigation, diagnosis, resolution and recovery for hardware/software problems.
Maintain overall ownership of user’s issue & service ensuring that they receive resolution within a reasonable timeframe.
Provide initial assessment of urgency and business impact on all support calls.
Manage service requests, software installations, new computer setups, upgrades, etc.

Requirements:

University degree or its equivalent in Computer Engineering and other IT-related disciplines.

Knowledge of multiple desktop programs, configuration and debugging techniques.

Oscars season kicked off on Thursday as actors Angelina Jolie, Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin and Italian costume designer Piero Tosi were the first to receive honorary Governors Awards, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences said.

The Governors Awards are an Oscar statuettes given to those in film that have made significant contributions to the industry through their body of work. They will be presented at a ceremony in Hollywood on Nov. 16.

Jolie, 38, is the youngest of the four recipients, and is being honored for her career, including her Oscar-winning role in 1999's "Girl, Interrupted," her directorial debut with 2011's "In the Land of Blood and Honey," and her humanitarian work.

Microsoft Corp said it will buy Nokia Oyj's phone business and license its patents for 5.44 billion euros ($7.2 billion), making its boldest foray yet into mobile devices and bringing executive Stephen Elop back into the fold.

Nokia chief Elop, a former Microsoft executive, will return as Microsoft's board ponders a successor to current CEO Steve Ballmer, who will depart sometime in the next 12 months after initiating a reorganization intended to transform the software company into a devices and services group in the mould of Apple Inc.
