CARPET CLEANING TIPS
Vacuum on a regular basis to prevent everyday dirt from setting into your carpet.
Consider using area rugs in high traffic areas. That will protect your carpet from unnecessary staining and wear..
Have your carpets professionally cleaned by Chogon Cleaning Services every six to nine months, depending on how heavily they are soiled.
Apply protectant to your carpet to help prevent stains from forming.
If you do spill, blot, blot, blot! Get up as much of the liquid in the carpet as possible to prevent it from sinking into the carpet pad.
Don’t pour water on to stains in order to “lighten them.” Although this can loosen the stain, it will subsequently sink deeper into the carpet and the pad, making it worse in the long run.
How to Clean a Rug
Rugs can be beautiful additions to your home, but they can be expensive and at times delicate. By understanding how to clean rugs, you will also be able to preserve your investment. There are a few very common mistakes that people make when it comes to cleaning area rugs. These mistakes can end up subtracting years from the life of your rugs, and they should be avoided. These tips -- ranging from vacuuming to spraying to pet odors and spills -- can keep your rugs looking new for as long as possible.
Steps
1. The best way to keep your area rug looking its best is once a month flips it upside down and vacuums the back of the rug. It is okay to use a beater bar/rotating brush vacuum on the back of a wool rug, on the front it is recommended to only use suction. Vacuuming the back with the beater bar/rotating brush helps push dirt trapped deep down toward the top of the rug. The rug is then flipped right side up and this dirt is vacuumed. For synthetic area rugs it is fine to use the beater bar/rotating brush vacuum on the front and back of the rug.
2. It is not advisable to vacuum fringes/tassels. When you run the vacuum over the fringes they get sucked into the beater bar of your vacuum. The fringes do not need to be vacuumed at all. Fluffing them by hand is all they need. Anything else can cause damage to them.
3. Be aware of carpet shampoos or sprays! Carpet shampoos are usually made for synthetic wall to wall carpet not wool area rugs. Always check the label before using any spot cleaners or rug shampoos. When you use a spotter or shampoo make sure you rinse it all out. If there is any soap residue left in the rug it will attract dirt. Always test your rug with a damp white cotton towel to make sure the colors will not run or bleed.
4. Make sure that you clean up spills or stains as as soon as they occur. Blot or scrape the spillage up depending on the type of spill. Blot, using a clean white 100% cotton dry towel and pressing down very hard from the outside towards the middle. Do this repeatedly, turning the folded towel over and over until you have absorbed as much moisture as possible. When you blot the spot move the towel in straight lines, NEVER RUB IN A CIRCLE, THIS CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR RUG. If the spillage is milk care must be taken to rinse the area thoroughly with mild detergent and water to prevent souring of the residue. For red wine spills, use equal parts of 10% hydrogen peroxide and Dawn liquid dish soap apply to cotton towel and blot.
5. Neutralize pet odors by mixing 1 part white vinegar with 3 parts water and blot with white towel.
Tips
Weekly vacuuming of both sides is ideal. If that’s not possible, you should do it at least once every two weeks.
It is recommended that you rotate your rugs at least once a year. This means turning the rug end for end or 180 degrees. This helps the rug to wear more evenly. You may also want to rearrange your furniture to change traffic patterns.
After you have removed a spill from your rug it needs to be dried as quickly as possible, a fan can aid in this.
When you use any type of spot removers always put the spotter on a white cotton and then blotting the spot. Putting the spotter on the rug can make removing the spot tougher or can make the spot into a stain, which is permanent.
If your rug gets really wet from a flood or other water source, get it to a professional rug cleaner as soon as possible to help prevent permanent damage to your area rug.
Another way that you can clean your carpet is by renting or purchasing a carpet cleaner/extractor. This type of machine will do a fairly good job of cleaning your carpet superficially, but because they don't have the ability to actually steam the fibers, all of the stains and dirt may not be removed. These types of machines are made for synthetic wall to wall carpet or upholstery.
Rugs should be rolled, not folded. When transporting in a moving van, a rolled rug should be placed on top of furniture and then have nothing heavier than a lampshade placed on top of the rug. Folding can cause permanent creases or wrinkles in your area rug.
Rugs and carpets eventually get dirty. For the best possible clean get a professional area rug cleaner to do the job

PropertiesPrevention And Elimination Of Bedbugs by KINOLAVI7(op): 11:45am On Jul 31, 2015
Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite
Reports of bedbugs can be found in the popular press and on hotel and travel review sites, and they appear to be making a comeback. The good news is that they typically do not pose serious health risks, even though their bites may be uncomfortable. These slides show you how to recognize bedbugs, know where they're hiding, and learn what to do to prevent getting bitten.

Know the Enemy
Bedbugs are small wingless insects with a flat body. Like all insects, they have six legs. Their color can range from whitish to brown, but after feeding (on blood from animals or people), they appear rusty red. Bedbugs grow to about 0.5 cm in length and can be seen by the Unclad eye. Their name comes from the fact that they often hide in bedding or mattresses.

Am I at Risk for Infestation?
Found worldwide, bedbugs are most common in developing countries. Still, reports of bedbugs in luxury hotels are not uncommon. They are most commonly found in areas like hostels, hotels, shelters, and apartment complexes where there are many visitors coming and going. When they enter your home, it's often because they have hidden in luggage, furniture, clothing, or boxes that are being moved. They can also travel on pets' fur. Increases in international travel may be responsible for the rise in bedbug sightings.

Feeding Habits
During the day, bedbugs tend to hide away in furniture, floors, beds, and in wood or paper trash. They typically feed on human or animal blood at night, and most bites occur just before dawn. After taking their meal, which can last as little as three minutes, they drop off the host and crawl to a hiding place. Bedbugs can live for up to 10 months and can go without feeding for weeks.

Bedbug Bites - Symptoms and Signs
Bedbug bites typically are stealthy and not felt by the host. This is because they inject a numbing substance into the skin along with an anticoagulant agent to prevent blood from clotting at the feeding site. Itchy, red bites on the skin may be the first sign you've been bitten. Bites are most common on the arms and shoulders, and the bites often occur in straight rows, as pictured here.

Bedbug Bites - Treatment
The bites do not usually require medical treatment. Secondary bacterial infection of the skin may develop in areas that become irritated due to prolonged scratching. Topical antibiotic creams or ointments may relieve symptoms of a secondary infection. Antiseptic lotions may also be beneficial. If you've had an allergic reaction to the bedbug bites, your doctor may recommend oral antihistamine medications or corticosteroids.

Do Bedbugs Transmit Diseases?
In recent research, investigators reviewed 53 studies on bedbugs and their effects. They found that there is little evidence to suggest that bedbugs spread any human diseases with their bites.

Is It a Bedbug or Something Else?
The bites of bedbugs can be difficult to identify, and not all red bites are due to bedbugs. Mosquitos, fleas, biting gnats, and mites can all bite humans. Collecting and identifying the bugs can help establish the diagnosis. They can often be found beneath or on the seams of mattresses. Their bloodstains may be visible even in the absence of bedbugs. You should also look into nooks and crannies of furniture, walls, and floors if you're suspicious that bedbugs may be present.

Fight Back Against Bedbugs
Infested mattresses and box springs can be discarded or wrapped in plastic to trap the bedbugs. Washing bedding and clothes in hot water and drying with high heat can kill bedbugs and their larvae. Cleaning and vacuuming furniture and floors can also help get rid of bedbugs. Shake out suitcases after traveling. Only use an insecticide in cracks on floors or furniture in areas that do not come into contact with skin. An exterminator can help if you're unable to rid the home of bedbugs.

HealthFumigation And Pest Control Tips by KINOLAVI7(op): 11:32am On Jul 31, 2015
Bedbugs
Bedbugs are small, oval, brownish insects that live on the blood of animals or humans. Adult bedbugs have flat bodies about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, however, their bodies swell and are a reddish color.
Bedbugs do not fly, but they can move quickly over floors, walls, and ceilings. Female bedbugs may lay hundreds of eggs, each of which is about the size of a speck of dust, over a lifetime.
Immature bedbugs, called nymphs, shed their skins five times before reaching maturity and require a meal of blood before each shedding. Under favorable conditions the bugs can develop fully in as little as a month and produce three or more generations per year.
Although they are a nuisance, they do not transmit diseases.
Where Bed Bugs Hide
Bedbugs may enter your home undetected through luggage, clothing, used beds and couches, and other items. Their flattened bodies make it possible for them to fit into tiny spaces, about the width of a credit card. Bedbugs do not have nests like ants or bees, but tend to live in groups in hiding places. Their initial hiding places are typically in mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards where they have easy access to people to bite in the night.
Over time, however, they may scatter through the bedroom, moving into any crevice or protected location. They may also spread to nearby rooms or apartments.
Because bedbugs live solely on blood, having them in your home is not a sign of dirtiness. You are as likely to find them in immaculate homes and hotel rooms as in filthy ones.
When Bedbugs Bite
Bedbugs are active mainly at night and usually bite people while they are sleeping. They feed by piercing the skin and withdrawing blood through an elongated beak. The bugs feed from three to 10 minutes to become engorged and then crawl away unnoticed.
Most bedbug bites are painless at first, but later turn into itchy welts. Unlike flea bites that are mainly around the ankles, bedbug bites are on any area of skin exposed while sleeping. Also, the bites do not have a red spot in the center like flea bites do.
People who don't realize they have a bedbug infestation may attribute the itching and welts to other causes, such as mosquitoes. To confirm bedbug bites, you must find and identify the bugs themselves.
Signs of Infestation
If you wake up with itchy areas you didn't have when you went to sleep, you may have bedbugs, particularly if you got a used bed or other used furniture around the time the bites started. Other signs that you have bedbugs include:
Blood stains on your sheets or pillowcases
Dark or rusty spots of bedbug excrement on sheets and mattresses, bed clothes, and walls
Bedbug fecal spots, egg shells, or shed skins in areas where bedbugs hide
An offensive, musty odor from the bugs' scent glands
If you suspect an infestation, remove all bedding and check it carefully for signs of the bugs or their excrement. Remove the dust cover over the bottom of the box springs and examine the seams in the wood framing. Peel back the fabric where it is stapled to the wood frame.
Also, check the area around the bed, including inside books, telephones or radios, the edge of the carpet, and even in electrical outlets. Check your closet, because bedbugs can attach to clothing. If you are uncertain about signs of bedbugs, call an exterminator, who will know what to look for.
If you find signs of infestation, begin steps to get rid of the bugs and prevent their return.
Bedbug Treatments
Getting rid of bedbugs begins with cleaning up the places where bedbugs live. This should include the following:
Clean bedding, linens, curtains, and clothing in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer setting. Place stuffed animals, shoes, and other items that can't be washed in the dryer and run on high for 30 minutes.
Use a stiff brush to scrub mattress seams to remove bedbugs and their eggs before vacuuming.
Vacuum your bed and surrounding area frequently. After vacuuming, immediately place the vacuum cleaner bag in a plastic bag and place in garbage can outdoors.
Encase mattress and box springs with a tightly woven, zippered cover to keep bedbugs from entering or escaping. Bedbugs may live up to a year without feeding, so keep the cover on your mattress for at least a year to make sure all bugs in the mattress are dead.
Repair cracks in plaster and glue down peeling wallpaper to get rid of places bedbugs can hide.
Get rid of clutter around the bed.
If your mattress is infested, you may want to get rid of it and get a new one, but take care to rid the rest of your home of bedbugs or they will infest your new mattress.
Bedbug Extermination
While cleaning up infested areas will be helpful in controlling bedbugs, getting rid of them usually requires chemical treatments. Because treating your bed and bedroom with insecticides can be harmful, it is important to use products that can be used safely in bedrooms. Do not treat mattresses and bedding unless the label specifically says you can use them on bedding.
Generally it is safest and most effective to hire an experienced pest control professional for bedbug extermination.

15 bugs that aren't bed bugs

An exquisite if rarely discussed is finding out that there are insects you may discover on your mattress that is not, in fact, a bed bug!
In the last few years, bed bug false alarms have become a bigger feature of the local pest control business, as home owners have gotten more educated about the critters—and more aggressive about calling exterminators at the first sign of a problem, experts say.
John Furman, founder of Boot-A-Pest, a company that specializes in bed bug control, estimates that 80% of people who call him about bed bugs don’t have them, up from about 60% three or four years ago. Standard Pest Management had 59 fewer cases of responding to live bed bugs in 2013 and 68 more visual inspections over the previous year, says President Gil Bloom.
“Things are getting treated earlier,” Bloom says. “There’s less spread.”
Preliminary city-wide numbers bear that out: in 2013, there were about 1,500 bed bug complaints received by the Chogon Fumigation services Team, a 19% decline from 2012, according to Bloom.
If you find a suspicious looking bug, use these strategies to make sure you're not freaking out unnecessarily:
Compare your insect to these photos
This photographic menagerie of beetles, cockroaches, lice and other insects
None of the insects pictured is a bed bug--but all of them are species that amateurs frequently mistake for bed bugs.
Send a sample
The best way to diagnose a bed bug attack is to send a sample insect to an exterminator so they can evaluate it or send it to a lab for verification, says Michael Bohan, a vice president at pest control firm Assured Environments. At Assured, you can overnight your specimen to their offices, or they’ll send a messenger to pick it up free of charge, he says.
Take a photo
The next best way to identify your bug is to send a photo. Exterminators routinely screen potential infestations through photographs, often for free. “My truck doesn’t get rolling until I see evidence via photograph in my email,” Furman says.
Indeed, more than half of all bugs can be identified from a photo, at least to the extent of determining the next step--an all clear or an in-person investigation, Bloom says.
To ensure an accurate identification:
Send at least two photos, one with a clear picture of the insect and another next to a dime or ruler for scale, says Bloom. Often, customers “will put it in next to a dime, and the camera automatically will focus on the dime and blur the bug," he adds.
Take the photo on non-textured, white paper, Bloom says. If the bug is on a marble kitchen counter, for example, it’s difficult to distinguish the bug from the background.

High Pressure cleaning
CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems Nigeria does high pressure cleaning in numerous applications. When cleaning with high pressure, the machines that are used are of different types.
When performing high pressure cleaning, there are three things that have to be considered:
1) Heat
2) Pressure
3) Waterflow
Each of these plays a crucial part in reaching the cleaning result desired. Other factors that have to be considered are:
a) the chemicals being used
b) fuel consumption
c) other related factors
CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems also offers high pressure cleaning with hot water for many applications, such as:
Cleaning of building exteriors.
After-a-fire cleaning of buildings.
Removal of certain types of mold/mildew infestations.
Cleaning of walls and ceilings in areas that can tolerate moisture.
Hot water high pressure cleaning is also a part of CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems' Nigeria integrated specialized cleaning services.
Soda Blasting
CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems Nigeria uses soda blasting mostly in demanding and delicate cleaning projects.
Soda blasting is the true coating removal application. The blasting media used is baking soda. The soft, sharp granules of the baking soda are used to clean, degrease and remove paint or graffiti from many surfaces WITHOUT or with very minimal to no damage to the surface cleaned.
Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) is 100% non-toxic and enviromentally friendly. It is not dangerous in any way unlike other blasting materials. Soda treats the surface much better than the previous known blasting material: sand, which can also be hazardous to the user.
The applications where CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems uses Soda Blasting are :
Removing paint and soot from houses (removing soot from the burned surface, and so on)
Removing paint and dirt from engine and hydraulic parts that is difficult to clean
Disinfection of areas (food service disinfection)
Disinfection of houses with mould/mildew infestation
Cleaning of stone surfaces that is difficult to clean (floor tiles, walls, bridges, etcetera)
Removing of graffiti
Cleaning of badly burned houses after a fire
Removing bitumen from glass and metal
Removing baked on carbon and grease on food equipments
Restoring engine frames, wings and parts from the aviation industry
Removing paint and varnish from wood
Removing concrete from glass and metal
Detecting cracks on parts and structural joints
Soda blasting can be applied to numerous surfaces. These include aluminium, stainless steel, wood, glass, brick, steel, concrete and natural stone (sandstone, lime, marble) and more.
Soda blasting removes and cleans difficult substances quickly and easily including rubberized tar, spray sealers, surface treatments, epoxy resins, resurfacing concrete and many more.
No other existing method can remove such difficult to remove substances as quickly, effectively and efficiently than Soda Blasting.
Soda blasting is part of CHOGON CLEANING SERVICES Cleaning Systems Nigeria's integrated specialized cleaning solutions.

use more cute/functional sleepwear, and it’s
something we rarely take the time to buy for
ourselves.
9. Cup her face gently when you kiss her,
especially if it’s a totally everyday, run-of-the-mill-
love-ya kiss.
10. Bring her things she loves, but which are not
‘quintessentially romantic.’ A bag of Cheetos, a
nice shade of nail polish you liked at the drug
store, or a weird t-shirt can mean much more
than roses.
11. Cuddle her unexpectedly while in public. Like,
put your arm around her in an affectionate
(without being over-the-top) way, and let her sort
of melt into you.
12. Get the ingredients to make her favorite
cocktail and have them waiting for her when she
gets home.
13. One day, for no reason at all, call in sick and
have her call in sick so that the two of you can
spend the day together watching movies, ordering
in food, and hanging out.
14. Compile a small list of fun things going on in
your city that weekend, and send them to her
work email on Friday morning to choose from.
15. Urge her to get the delicious-looking cheese-
based dish instead of the salad, because you
know she’ll just eat yours if you don’t.
16. Be protective over something small (cute
protective, not controlling protective). Like if she’s
about to go out and the forecast says it miiiiight
rain, insist that she takes her umbrella as she’s
walking out of the house.
17. Pack her a lunch for work one day and write
her name on the bag in Sharpie. (Alternatively,
put a little note on a napkin and put it in the bag.)
18. Attempt to help her with her makeup/beauty
routine, even if you’re terrible at it. (In fact,
especially if you’re terrible at it — think Justin
Timberlake painting his girlfriend’s toes in the
“Gone” video.) Alternative: let her test out
something on you on a boring Friday night at
home.
19. Convince her that you totally forgot to plan
something for her birthday/your anniversary/
something special, and then at the last minute be
like “Sike get ready, we have reservations at 8:30,”
and take her to something extra special.
20. Rub her back for no reason.
21. Start watching a show with her and be
religious about only watching it when the two of
you can watch it together.
