AACUSP - Alarmline II Analogue LHD Control Unit - Self Programmable The AACUSP is a self programmable, Analogue Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cable control unit. It provides monitoring for any of the Alarmline II range of LHD sensor cable, configuration of alarm and pre-alarm temperatures as well as enabling simple interface to a main fire alarm or BMS system. Interface & Programming The AACUSP provides LED indications as well as an LCD. Internal pushbuttons allow configuration without the need for a PC. Pre-Alarm and Alarm thresholds can be set through simple menu options with no need for any graphs or nomograms. Initial set-up is done by measuring and entering the calibration resistance of the sensor cable removing the need to know the sensor cable length. Volt free changeover contacts are provided inside the control unit for Pre-Alarm and Alarm signaling to a main fire alarm control panel or BMS system. A failsafe opto-isolated phototransistor fault output is also provided. No user controls are provided on the control unit. An isolated input is provided enabling remote reset functionality. Operation As well as monitoring the LHD sensor cable for changes in temperature, the control unit also monitors for open and short circuit faults along the cable ensuring notification if the cable becomes damaged. It is fitted with its own internal temperature monitor and should the temperature within the controller enclosure reach 100°C (212°F), an alarm will be signaled. Each control unit may have up to 500m (1640ft) of LHD sensor cable connected to it, acting as a single detection zone. When the LHD sensor cable and the control unit are installed in different areas, a suitable interposing cable can be used to make the electrical connection between them. FEATURES & BENEFITS UL521 and CE approval, UL/ULC listed Up to 500m of sensor cable per zone Separate pre-alarm and alarm signals Easy programmable interface Enclosure temperature alarm IP66 rated enclosure No nomograms or charts required Other Reference : ProReact A1162 |

Overview Linear Heat Detection (LHD) provides fast and reliable detection of fire or overheating. It is suitable for use in most environments and is unaffected by airflow, hazardous chemicals or contaminants and for other areas where traditional detection types may underperform. A Linear Heat Detection system typically consists of at least one length of heat sensing cable and one controller. The heat sensing cable is installed along or around the area to be protected. Heat sensing cable is available with a variety of outer coatings making it suitable for a range of different applications. When a fire or overheat event occurs, the temperature of the cable increases. Once the cable reaches a predefined temperature, the controller reports an event to the fire alarm control panel. The controllers can also provide the location of the event to allow fires or potential fires to be quickly identified and dealt with. |

Linear heat detection cable's (LHDC) are designed to provide an early warning detection of fire and overheating in applications where point detectors would not be viable due to inability to sustain the environment or through the costing element. The cable is available to purchase in two different types; digital and analogue. Digital cable operates at fixed temperatures and is non-resettable. Analogue cable can have an adjustable alarm set point and once triggered can be recoverable and reset. Analogue Linear Heat Detection Cable (LHS) and Controller offers an easy installation method for sensing changes in temperature. Their analogue technology provides separate Pre-Alarm and Alarm outputs in order to maximise functionality, coupled with open and short circuit detection and discrimination. Ambient temperature compensation keeps the alarm accurate. This product offers alternative overheat protection in a vast range of applications and industries, from power generation to oil & gas industries. Using a standard circuit board or plug-and-play unit (for non-standard situations) the analogue linear heat detection system can easily be interfaced to an addressable loop or can be connected directly to any number of zones on a conventional fire panel that is set up to support sub panels. The analogue technology consists of a four-core sensing cable and a separate monitor module. Each module contains a temperature sensor. Alarm conditions are reported as ACDC or open collector signals to the detection control unit at each zone
