Fifa President Gianni Infantino has confirmed he will arrive Nigeria in two weeks time for a 2-day working visit. Infantino, who was elected FIFA President at an extraordinary general assembly in Zurich on 26th February 2016, confirmed the trip following a meeting with NFF President Amaju Pinnick in Paris, France on Sunday.

“The FIFA President and Secretary General will arrive in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Sunday, 24th July on a two –day working visit to Nigeria,” Pinnick told thenff.com.
During the two –day visit, Infantino and Samoura will pay a courtesy call on President Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, hold meeting with a legion of African FA presidents who are expected in Nigeria to join the NFF to receive the FIFA topshots and attend an evening session with Corporate Nigeria in Lagos.

The duo will also meet with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State before watching the finals of the NFF/ZENITH Bank Future Eagles Championship. President Buhari Approves New Board of Directors for NNPC

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the composition of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), as provided for under Section 1(2) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended.

This is according to a statement issued by his spokesman Femi Adesina.

The new board is composed of the following:

The candle light procession for late Nigerian music producer and singer, OJB Jezreel has kicked off at his residence in Surulere, Lagos. If he was alive, today July 4, 2016 would have been the day for his 50th birthday celebrations.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and tertiary education stakeholders on Thursday in Abuja adopted 180 as the cut-off mark for 2016 admission into universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

The decision was reached at the 2016 Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Degree, Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) and National Diploma (ND) chaired by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

In his opening remark, Mr. Adamu said if there was confidence in JAMB’s conduct of the University Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), there should be no need for post-UTME.

The post-UTME is organised by various tertiary institutions to screen candidates who applied to such institutions and who had scaled through JAMB’s UTME.

“If the universities have problem with what JAMB is doing, they should come forward with it and we will address it.

“JAMB is one of the most active parastatals in the ministry; I expect that policies that would be beneficial to Nigerian students should be discussed at this meeting.

“I believe there should be no ground to lower the quality; Nov. 30 remains the closing date for 2016 admission.

“No institution should exceed its quota in admission; we will start issuing penalties to defaulting institutions.’’
