TFT has some crazy swap fees. It's Wednesday, you incurred 3x of the swap fee.

Your swap fee is probably (3*34.9) *3lots = $314 for 3lots or thereabout.

Not sure of the calculation but pretty sure swap is the cause.

Why does TFT keep deducting from my account when a Gold position is open overnight?

My account was at 4.1k before I opened the gold trade at 9pm yesterday, I didn't get in a loss before nor was I in any trade that hit SL, but my account now is less just above 2k.

Is there any hidden rule I'm breaking? Because this happened before during the week's market open.

I don't know of anyone who uses gaps as OB. But from my experience, they don't hold very often.

It's true that price will always come back to fill it, but you can't bank on price reversing from the zone.

More times than not, price tends to continue moving in the intended direction before the gap.
As an example, look at UJ h4 chart.

UJ's case is a bit different as there was equal high even before the gap, in SMC terms, that's liquidity to be taken.

Chief, I still think it's a fluke. I'm waiting for weekend so I can reevaluate and plan ahead. The account is +4% now, I'm hoping I don't go lower before the weekend comes.

Treat gaps as zones, they work well when you see signals on them either buy or sell depending on where you see it....I do make use of it, it's the reason for US30 buy on the daily tf

In using gaps, it's pretty sure that the market will always want to trade back into the zone to fill up those gaps but having an OB at the same place, i don't know.

No no, there's no OB there. I was asking if you or anyone you know use the gaps as OB because from my SnR experience, they can be pretty valid.

In my own view, markets usually like to fill these gaps,
once the gaps is filled and price enters the supply or demand zones and touches the OB, I wait for a break of candle in the opposite direction and make an entry.... doesn't always work but if it does, you get good RR... dunno if you use 2 timeframes in respect to your question

my advice is to backtest as much as possible, if it has a high winrate or good RR, you can make it a strategy

When I was still trading trendlines, they were good confirmation, I even entered off them... But with SMC, I haven't tried it. I'll wait for confirmation and see where it goes next.

I have some potential setups, but where the OB should be is replaced with gaps, I'm going to ignore them, but I want to know how you've used them before if you have.
