President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo currently are on a TV live town hall programme tagged ‘The Candidates’ jointly organized by Nigerian Television Authority and Daria Media.


The Programme is moderated by Kadaria Ahmed and features questions from the audience through various platforms aired live on NTA Network station and other media stations.

Q) Why do you want Nigeria to give another four years ?

My party recommend me and I did that to save time to caution members of the party. Those who felt very strongly about it left the party. The three fundamental objective we campaigned on in 2015 are still relevant. We want to remind Nigerians to see when we started and where we are now.
Q) The fight against corruption as been accused of being selective?

I told you why I have to be careful. If there are strong allegation, people should come out with strong evidence like names of companies looted, contracts awarded then, we take them before the court and ICPC and we have to trust the system and allow them to complete their investigation. If we just arrest them and lock the way we did in the military system Democracy is a multi party system that does not approve that. So if there is strong allegation , the government may ask people to go like the former secretary-general.
On how to end the herders, farmers’ crisis, Osinbajo said the long-term solution is ranching, which is a private arrangement but in the interim building of earth dams up North would go a long way.
He said outright ban of grazing will not work because it is not done anywhere, it is a gradual process.
On what the government would do with money recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, President Buhari said the money would be used to address infrastructure deficit in roads, railways and power through budgeting. Before that, he said the money recovered would be placed in a single account so that it can be accounted for.
On Boko Haram insurgency, President Buhari insisted that the insurgents had been technically defeated and decimated. According to him people of the North-East, who can now go about their businesses, go to farms and travel from one place to the other now unlike before he came to power would testify to how far his government had checkmated the insurgents.
Instead of controlling many local governments, the insurgents have been degraded to attacking soft targets like mosques, churches and markets.
Told that the insurgents now attack military facilities and kill soldiers at will, President Buhari said the war with Boko Haram is not a conventional war.
Declaring that the insurgents are being supported by forces outside Nigeria, he said the military needs a lot of money to buy equipment.

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally reacted to reports that he had been cloned. The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, said in a Twitter post that Buhari, while addressing Nigerians in Poland, said some people had wished him dead when he was sick for many months.

The tweet read, “A lot of people hoped that I died during my ill health. It is real me… I will soon celebrate my 76th birthday and I will still go strong. — President @MBuhari this evening in Kraków, Poland. His response to a question of him being cloned.”

Meanwhile, the self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has countered the assertion of the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, alleging he said President Muhammadu Buhari was cloned.

Concise News reports that the Minister had said the idea of Buhari being cloned was “not only absolute idiotic but also sheer bunkum.”

The Minister said the insinuation “does not require any response from any responsible government or its agencies,” apparently paying deaf ears to Kanu’s claims.

Reacting to Mohammed’s statement during a live broadcast via radio Biafra on Saturday, Kanu clarified that he only said Buhari was an imposter and not cloned as the Minister was quoted to have said.

His words: “We are going to dismantle the lies of Lai Mohammed and his brother, there was one Yoruba senator, very mischievous and a lying toad, he said he owes a doctorate degree in genetics as anyone heard about the man before? He a Yoruba senator.

“Do you see how clever they are? This Yoruba senator said that nobody can clone a 75-year-old. Lai Mohammed echoed the same sentiments.

“If you’re not intelligent enough, you will think Nnamdi Kanu said that Buhari was cloned into Jubril, that was not what I said. I said that Jubril is an impostor. They brought him in to act and behave like the dead Buhari. I never said he was cloned. But you see how clever these lairs are? Like lying Mohammed.

“In a move that betrayed the shallowness of the zoo media and gangsters in Aso Rock. Lai Mohammed and all the rest of them. The stupid introduction of cloning into the narrative was a deliberate ploy to confuse you because they know you are black, you will be confused,” he said.

This is not the first time a South African pastor has been seen doing bizarre things in the name of miracles. It would be recalled that a while back, South African-based Nigerian pastor, Pastor Anointed, who is widely known for his controversial miracles, made his congregants lick his shoes to receive miracle money.



In the photos that have gone viral since it hit the internet, the members of Pastor Anointed Church could be seen kneeling before the shoes and kissing them to partake in the miracle money that was promised by the cleric to land in their lives.

Similarly, Pastor Penuel Mnguni, who is infamously known as the snake pastor gave his congregation dog meat and blood which he claimed would heal them from HIV/ Aids and cancer. According to reports, a disturbing video from the scene was shared on the Facebook profile of End Times Disciples Ministries. The video showed the pastor giving dog meat to his church members to cure them from HIV. It was also gathered that the two hours footage showed frogs being sla*ghtered.



The post sparked outrage on social media with Facebook users slamming the pastor. Daniel Kunda wrote, “Indeed its the End time Disciples but believe me my brother, you have misinterpret the Scripture, even the people who commenting and supporting you they need serious Deliverance, who as bewitched you Foolish Galatians.”

Mbewe Martin also wrote: “Anointed Don’t be ignorant to the word of God, go back to Bible college brother…. The Bible says my people perish due to lack of knowledge, that’s misleading people….. Everyone has a right to choose what to eat….”

Disgraced US television icon Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison by a judge on Tuesday and branded a “ sexually violent predator ” for assaulting a woman at his Philadelphia mansion 14 years ago .
The 81-year - old , once beloved as “ America ’ s Dad , ” is the first celebrity convicted and sentenced for a sex crime since the downfall of Harvey Weinstein ushered in the #MeToo movement and America’ s reckoning with sexual harassment.

Convicted five months ago of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand , a former university basketball administrator , he showed no reaction when Judge Steven O ’ Neill handed down the sentence in a court in Norristown, Pennsylvania .
It makes him one of the famous Americans ever ordered to serve a prison sentence, in a country where fame and unlimited wealth spent on brilliant lawyers have tended to help celebrities avoid jail in the past.
The sentence means that Cosby could spend at least three years in prison, but up to 10. While the defence asked their client to remain under house arrest pending an appeal , the judge ordered him to be remanded into custody.
Looking at Constand , seated in the gallery , O ’ Neill referenced the words “ no , no , no ” that she heard in her head as the assault took place in January 2004, and she was powerless to fight him off after being sedated .
“ You didn ’ t hear those words, ” said O ’ Neill . “ I heard those words. The jury heard those words. ”
Prosecutors had demanded five to 10 years in prison, after the three counts of aggravated indecent assault were merged into one , served in a state prison, together with a $25, 000 fine and the full cost of the prosecution .
Defence lawyers had argued that Cosby should be confined to house arrest, as he has been since his conviction , arguing that he is too old and too frail — the actor says he is legally blind — to endure a correctional facility .
– ‘ No one above the law ’ –
“ You were convicted of a very serious crime , ” O ’ Neill told Cosby . “ No one is above the law, ” he added . “ No one should be treated differently. ”
The judge said he recognized the defendant’ s age and blindness, but said they could not be the determining factors . Cosby has been confined to his home on a $1 million bail for nearly three years.
“ The defendant is in need of correctional treatment , ” O ’ Neill said .
Earlier on Tuesday, the judge designated Cosby a “ sexually violent predator , ” which will force him to register with police for the rest of his life and to submit to mandatory counselling .
Pennsylvania law defines such an offender as having “ a mental abnormality or personality disorder” that makes them likely to engage in repeat crimes .
“ Do you understand that the judge has determined that you qualify as a sexually violent predator ?” one of the prosecutors asked .
“ Yes, ” replied Cosby , once adored by millions for his defining role on “ The Cosby Show, ” dressed in a navy pin -striped suit , white shirt and red tie .
Psychologist Timothy Foley , testifying for the defence, said that the risk of Cosby re -offending was “ extraordinarily low. ”
– ‘ Crushed my spirit’ –
But a member of the state board recommending the designation, said that it was “ possible ” he had already met “ a future victim ” .
“ Being blind doesn ’ t make you unconscious , ” she told the court on Monday , on the first of his extended two - day sentence hearing.
On Monday , chief prosecutor Kevin Steele castigated Cosby for expressing no remorse .
Once a towering figure in late 20th century American popular culture and the first black actor to grace primetime US television , he brought no character witnesses , declined to address the court or emphasize past years of philanthropic work as mitigating circumstances in his favour.
Around 60 women, many of them onetime aspiring actresses and models, have publicly branded Cosby as a calculating, serial predator who plied victims with sedatives and alcohol to bed them over four decades .
But only one case — that involving Constand , a former Temple University employee turned massage therapist — was recent enough to be prosecuted.
“ Bill Cosby took my beautiful , healthy young spirit and crushed it . He robbed me of my health and vitality , my open nature , and my trust in myself and others , ” she wrote in a five -page victim impact statement .
“ When the sexual assault happened , I was a young woman brimming with confidence and looking forward to a future bright with possibilities .
“ Now , almost 15 years later , I ’ m a middle -aged woman who ’ s been stuck in a holding pattern for most of her adult life, unable to heal fully or to move forward . ”
