I think it is high time nairaland incorporates a verification system for members and registeration of new members. Whether na BVN or National ID. At least make those 14 year olds decease but most importantly to reduce this high level of scam activity. It's actually at an alarming rate now. It's a daily occurrence. Nairaland is like a big city, so these are the ones we are seeing and hearing about here in the biz section/tech. Goes on it properties, autos, phones, agric, and so many sections.

Again as I said, nothing concrete has been done to nab this guy. Why it hasn't interested Seun to the point here he takes a deliberate effort, even if not a general one but an effort to nab this particular guy, still baffles me.

Even if it means finding a way to bring together as much as possible those who have proof that they have been scammed by this very Emmanuel over the past couple of years abi na decade now. I'm sure if you approach banks with proof from 20 different people pointing to a particular account as red flag, an investigation will be done and access can be granted into the full activities of that person, including his BVN and bank staff that have probably been aiding him. This is more difficult for an individual.

Before I experienced it myself I heard how young males (17-30) are always harassed by the Nigerian police if they happen to see an IPhone with them there is no story you can say you must be a yahoo boy (internet fraudster)



I experienced it myself few days ago I was coming from Ibadan and my destination was Lagos I alighted at Berger in Lagos and I was approached by some men who later identified themselves as police men .



They immediately requested to see my phone(s) what made the matter interesting was that I used an iPhone 5s and a tecno boom J8 immediately I brought it out they held me by my belt and just told me I was a fraudster and would go to jail



Judgment without trial I just started shining my teeth knowing well that they must be joking the last 500 naira on me which I planned to use as transport to yaba



I was detained in their van few moments later another young man like myself joined me and the police men came ransacked our phones saw nothing incriminating in it except my Badoo app na so them change am for me o (kukuma kill) me



I saw all they wanted was to extort me and I was not ready to part away with my last 500 naira before they knew it I started shouting OLE! OLE!! OLE!!! (thief ! thief !! thief!!!) EGBAMI O (help me !!!)

Before they knew it guys don dey observe us don dey prepare to attack o na so one police man slap me believe me I saw stars but the tempo of my voice increased they were forced to push me out of their vehicle and sped off I really don’t know what happened to the other guy though but I just thanked my stars (part of the stars I saw when I was given a dirty slap)



I have always been scared of our shabby looking policemen I don’t know how the government expect us to trust our police men if all they do is frustrate law abiding citizens
