Education / Re: NAOSS Election:Electoral Chairman Makes U-turn,Says Winner Declared Under Duress by Laycoln(m): 4:16pm On Jul 08, 2019
I Remain NAOSS President, Says Adejobi

Tension rocked Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) hall, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital yesterday during the National Association of Ogun State Student (NAOSS) election.

The outgoing President of the association, Comrade Peter Adejobi while addressing media on the results of the election claimed that he remains the National President of the association since the election was not well conducted.

He maintained that the studentship of one of the supposed contestant for the post of National President in the canceled election, Ogunrombi Gbemileke popularly known as O'Leke is unfounded.

He said the environment for the election was not conducive for the electorates adding that NANS PRO, Adeyemi Azeez mobilised thugs in their hundreds to intimidate and destabilize the election processing claiming that he has the back of the new Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun to do and undo.

According to him, "There was a threat to my life (Adejobi) by the cultists that Adeyemi brought to the election ground.

He maintained that there was no accreditation of chapters President and aspirants agents which has never happened in the history of the association.

Adejobi also explained that none of the past NAOSS executives nor the stakeholders were allowed to monitor the election process.

His words "I hereby implore all the security agencies, media personnel in the state to come to our aid and allow justice to prevail.

We hereby call for the election to be rescheduled and held at the DSS office to ensure security of the Senators and aspirants and also allow free democratic will of the genuine students to prevail."

National Association Ogun State Students (NAOSS)
Fed.Poly Bida Chapter,
Niger State
7th June , 2019.

National Association of Ogun State students,
Apex body
Dear Sir,
REJECTION OF THE NAOSS ELECTION
Federal Polytechnic Bida Niger State Executives write to inform about our dissatisfaction of the NAOSS ( APEX) Election which was conducted on Saturday 6th of June , 2019 and thereby reject and call for the nullification of the outcome of the election.
The election was characterized with so many undue process and irregularities which include the following:

No proper accreditation of schools/chapters

No proper verification of senators representing various schools

Only few Northern senators are allowed in to the convention venue

Security personnel and Policemen only protect the Thugs rather than the rightful students who are willing to perform their Civic duties

National association of Nigeria Student (NANS) Ogun chapter intimidated, assaulted and finally hijacked NAOSS convention

No ballot paper were Available for Voting

All Accredited senators (mostly non Student and non NAOSS senators imported by NANS were caged in the venue and prevent movement to and fro

Election was conducted only for two offices (president and general secretary)

Senate President was declared unopposed for someone that was screened as Deputy senate President aspirant because a qualified and screened senate President aspirant which is unopposed till midnight of election day was not present at the convention ground. The act that has no constitutional backup
Some of the Aspirant obtain their forms at the Eleventh hour
A security officer (policeman) slapped a naoss national stakeholder for no reason and denied him of observing the process of the election while another policeman threatened to arrest another Northern Naoss stakeholder because he complained about the irregularities of the election processes

After the purported schools (chapters) accreditation, 44 schools were announced by the elcom as those present at the convention venue out of 48 schools earlier broadcasted by the elcom in NAOSS convention WhatsApp platform. This will sum the total of 88 votes including voids. But along the line the elcom came up with new number of accredited schools which they claimed is 48. This happened after schools such as Al-Hikma University, Bida poly, Uniilorin, among others were not accredited by the elcom and those schools were locked outside the convention venue. In no way total number of votes will be 93votes

Meanwhile schools such as Sokoto state University and Umar Ali Shinkafi polytechnic, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University lapai were not included in the accredited list despite fulfilling all the accreditation process laid by the elcom

Accredited UDUS general secretary went out of convention venue before the commencement of the election to ease himself and denied entry when he return. This will reduced the initial accredited schools expected total vote to 87votes.
We are hoping to see your broadcast regarding this petition soon.

Thanks in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,
The Ex President

NAOSS
Dotun Adeboye, Abeokuta

The result of the just concluded election of the National Association of Ogun State Students, NAOSS has been faulted by the Chairman of the electoral committee, Comrade Olaonipekun Olusegun, describing it as a ruse and therefore should not stand.

Comrade Olusegun had shortly after the election held at NUJ Hall, Iwe-Iroyin at the state capital declared Comrade Ogunrombi Gbemileke (O’Leke) as the winner. But in a new twist, the electoral chairman in a press release made available to Gateway Times opened up that the declaration of the purported winner was done under duress as the atmosphere was tense to do otherwise.

According to Com Olusegun, the election was not in accordance with the constitution of the association. “It’s now expedient for us to pronounce the election, null and void,” He added.

The students leader also accused the security officers of not being helpful with the way voters were victimized by some thugs allegedly mobilised by one Adeyemi to cause mayhem during the election.

Olusegun who declared the election cancelled also pleaded for a safety place like the office of the State Security or Nigeria Police headquarters for the reschedule of the new election.

He therefore appealed to the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to please come to their aid by providing a conducive environment for them for the next election to be conducted.

According to him “After meeting with all the electoral committee for a proper analysis of the election process and how people were scared, threatened and intimidated.

He maintained that since there was a threatening of life at the election ground, he had no choice than to declare a winner in such circumstances.

The release read in part “Senators of the association who are the custodian of the association have also been submitting petition to that effect complaining that they all cast their vote under pressure and duress.”

Crime / The Unbelievable Story Of 7-year-old Boy Who Sleeps & Plays With Deadly Snakes by Laycoln(m): 11:40pm On Nov 19, 2018
Devesh Adivasi, a 7-year-old boy from rural Madhya Pradesh, in central India, has some very unusual best friends. For the past four years, he has been going into the jungle near his village and coming back with all kinds of snakes, some of them poisonous, that he plays, bathes and eats with. So far, he hasn’t been bitten once.
The boy’s family says that his fascination with snakes started when he was 3 years old, after dreaming about the slithering reptiles one night. Next morning, he told his parents about it, but they didn’t think much of it until they saw him running into the jungle near their village and later coming out with two snakes in hand.
The reptiles slithered all over his body, but they didn’t bite him. Since that day, Devesh has been going into the jungle almost every day and bringing back new friends to play with. He keeps them for a few days, bathes and sleeps with them, massages them with oil and then releases them back into the jungle.

alwaysvik: Hey guys, name's Victor Nzemeke. 500 level elect engine, unilorin. I've been following the posts on this thread with keen interest coz i've got a brother who also applied for admission.
Its amazing how much wrong info people carelessly broadcast, i wish they'd be more civil and check out facts and sources before telling. Well, as for the list no one, not even uninformed lecturers, can tell precisely when its coming out for sure, its all up to the admission office and the senate.
My advice to you guys is to keep your minds engaged with some productive stuff. Worrying doesn't improve your chances, so just be patient and have as much fun as you can between now and when the list would be out. Either way it goes, its not the end of life. Goodluck guys.
I believe u....thanks 4 d info
