The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a firm notice of resignation to Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, declaring its readiness to reclaim the Bola Ige Government House in Abere, Osogbo.

At the official inauguration of the 291-member APC Osun State Governorship National Campaign Council in Abuja, national party leadership and key stakeholders described the upcoming poll as a vital “litmus test” and a strategic practice ground for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the ceremony, APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda expressed supreme confidence in the party’s electioneering capacity, asserting that no political opposition in Osun State could withstand the APC’s political lineup.

“Looking at the calibre of people we have selected in this room—from the governors to members of the National Assembly, members of the National Working Committee, and all the committees represented here—nothing will stop us from taking over the Government House on August 15, 2026.”

Yilwatda likened the contest between the APC’s national mobilisation and the incumbent administration in Osun State to a heavy-duty truck confronting a tricycle, declaring:

“It is clear that the calibre of people standing here are men and women of great political strength… It is like a trailer facing a keke. I do not know how the political party standing against us in Osun can withstand the strength of these people who are going there to mobilise and win the election.”

The Chairman outlined a granular, door-to-door campaign strategy across all 3,762 polling units in Osun State, revealing that governors and lawmakers from every geopolitical zone will take personal responsibility for specific senatorial districts, alongside the Directorate of Women Affairs and local party structures.

Accepting the mandate on behalf of the 291-member council, the Chairman of the Campaign Council and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, framed the assignment as a solemn covenant demanding sacrifice, discipline, and measurable results.

“Our assignment is clear: to listen to the people of Osun State, speak to their hopes and aspirations, earn their confidence and convince them to vote for the APC and our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. We will return Osun to the progressive fold.”

Reaffirming the party’s resolve to conduct an issue-based campaign rooted in the Omoluabi ethos, Uzodimma assured party leaders that the council would answer opposition propaganda with facts and performance:

“We will not be distracted or intimidated by opposition blackmail, misinformation, or manufactured outrage on social media or anywhere else. We will answer falsehood with facts. We will respond to insults with discipline, propaganda with performance, and provocation with peace… The work begins now. The standard is excellence. The method is peace. The destination is victory.”

The APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee for deploying senior political figures to lead the effort.
