Wow! The capacity of our people to turn a 180 degrees when they get into the corridors of power is truly phenomenal. This is the kind of stuff that should be studied in our universities. |
Politics › Re: Hausa Hunters Used To Bring Game For My Father, They're Not Fulani - Reno Omokri by LethalSam: 10:01am On Apr 02, 2025 |
She.ge! Whilst I strongly the killings in Uromi, Reno Omokri is deliberately and cleverly twisted facts here. While the Nigerian Army has its roots in Lieutenant John Glover's 'Glover Hausas, a local militia force formed in 1863 to protect British Trade interests in Lagos, other forces such as the Oil Rivers Irregulars (1886) and the Niger Coast Constabulary (1891) also contributed to the development of the Nigerian Military. In 1900, the Southern and Northern Nigerian Regiments were formed, which would become part of the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF). The Nigerian Component of the RWAFF was renamed the Nigerian Army in 1956.
Reno Omokri tried albeit falsely to paint an awfully flawed narrative that the Hausas alone contributed significantly to the formation of the Nigerian Army to the exclusion of other parts of Nigeria which I have debunked in the preceding paragraph.
Secondly, the Hausa Fulani term is not the coinage of the Ibadan Lagos press. I have lived all my life in the North to know that that term has been in usage since Uthman Dan Fodio's revolution in Hausa land in the 1800s, if not further than that. The Fulanis have so integrated with the Hausas, that on political and even religious matters they tend to present a common front. Even though, there are christian minority groups within the Hausa and Fula clans, they have been swallowed up by the Hausa-Fulani Hegemonic structure.
The current attacks carried out by mostly Fulani controlled killer groups has precipitated a trend so dangerous that the Hausas are starting to disassociate themselves from the Fulanis. |

DesChyko: No source? It is when you people want to spin useless narratives that you use these kangaroo medium to leak rumours.
Modified: The headline and first paragraph on Nairaland are in complete disagreement with the source. This is clearly a sponsored character assasination attempt through clickbait as it now looks a deliberate ploy to leave out the source until the post has gained traction. The source spells out that LNG played a part, which means there are more, but the OP concluded that the she dumped one reason for another, where the source was not even referencing her quotes, but that of the Senate.
Fergie001, Mynd44, nlfpmod, please attend to this flagrant disregard for Rule 8. Thank you brother, you too much. This character is obviously a cheap hired hand doing the work of his masters. Okuno! |

Hmmmmmmmm. IBB praising the disciple of a man whose election he annuled is a sad joke. Honestly, our country is where it is because there is no modicum of integrity in the high places of leadership. |

This is the only way we are going to bring about some sanity in our public space. All elected officials should be tried and convicted of their crimes even while in office. I propose that an anti-corruption court should be set up for the speedy trial of these kinds of crimes and that persons who are found guilty should be handed very long and hard sentences. I am not surprised that the HOR declined to go ahead with this bill. A leopard cannot change its skin. Periodt! |

Nnamdipapa: Do not listen to op, live your life at your own pace and never compare yourself to others. Rather you should compare your present self to your past to ensure you are making consistent progress. I bought my first car at 22 and also bought for my dad the same day. I bought a 33,000ltr petroleum tanker for Ago business before 30 but still I do not diminish or look down on the struggles of individuals who do not have same opportunities I had in Nigeria. I was merely lucky to work good multinationals from my early 20ies.
Live your life at your own pace, try to be better every day in some form and take care of your health. Do not feel bad if you do not have a car or house at 35, you understand your own struggles the best. Life is a rat race and none of us is coming out of this race alive. Well said, brother. Well said. |
