When you sell to someone for the first time you make a SALE.

But when they come back again to buy from you it means they TRUST you.

When they recommend your Services and products to others, you've built a BRAND.

As a Serious business person, always aim at building a BRAND.

Building a brand is not easy at first but it builds long term Sales, instead of chasing just the first sale build a brand that attracts Potential Clients to want to do business with you not just once but repeatedly.

Quality is always greater than Quantity in building a BRAND.

My Business Discussions With My Father

I never expected a simple conversation with my dad to last almost 2 hours…

But that conversation opened my eyes.

I had just returned from school for a short break before finishing my exams. One evening, after spending time with him at his shop, something in my mind kept telling me to go speak with my dad.

So I went to his room and told him I wanted us to discuss something.

He sat on the chair while I sat on his bed.

You know that father-and-son moment 😅

Then I asked him:

“Daddy, won’t you like to bring your business online?”

He smiled and said he would love to, but he doesn’t really understand how the online world works and honestly, I understood him because he grew up in a different generation.

A generation where business was mostly about opening your shop, waiting for customers, and growing slowly.

But now, things have changed.

I started explaining how online advertising works.

How people now use their phones to grow businesses, sell to people in different places, and make money without owning a physical shop.

As I was talking, I noticed the smile on his face, he was proud, he was seeing that this “phone pressing” he used to worry about was not just about wasting time.

Then he told me something that touched me.

He said he was happy that I’ve been able to live independently in school without always calling him for money.

But as a father, he still had fears because he was scared I might lose focus on academics.

He was also worried I might damage my eyes because I’m always on my phone 😅

And that made me understand that most parents are not against your dreams.

Sometimes, they are just scared because they don’t understand the path you are taking.

My sister and I attend the same university. She’s studying Medicine & Surgery, while I’m in Engineering.

She is smart, hardworking, and very book-focused.

And my dad loves that about her but that night, I told him something:

“Our paths are not the same.”

She may be building her future through academics but as a man, I also have to start building my financial life early while still studying.

That conversation made me realize that a lot of young people are not lazy or unserious.

Some of them are just trying to build a future their parents don’t fully understand yet.

Many parents grew up believing the only safe path is going to school, graduate, get a job and then start life.

But this generation is different.

People are building businesses from their phones, learning digital skills and are making money online.

People are changing their family story before graduation.

So if you are young and still under your parents’ roof, don’t see it as a disadvantage.

It is actually one of your biggest opportunities.

You still have support, fewer responsibilities and you still have room to fail, learn, grow, and try again.

Use that advantage wisely by learning a skill, build your mindset, start something and take your future seriously.

And if your parents don’t fully support your dreams yet, don’t fight them.

Don’t argue too much, just build quietly and let your results speak.

Because sometimes, the same people who doubted you were not really your enemies.

They just couldn’t see what you were seeing yet.

The bottom line is this:

✅ Clarity helps you see your vision.
✅ Courage helps you protect it.
✅ Consistency helps you prove it.

Your parents may be responsible for your comfort but you are responsible for your vision.

They may not understand it now, but that doesn’t mean it’s not real.

Start now necause one day, the same people who were once worried about you will proudly say:

“That’s my son.”

“That’s my daughter.”

And that's the day everything would make sense.
