Let's handle this thread with utmost professionalism. For unsettled scores, the settling should be carried out professionally without emotional harm to anyone nor the mood of the thread.

Now, let's talk about managing and sustaining a positive mood on the assessment day. That's being strong and staying focused even after a bad session. Suggestions on what to do guys. Let's do it.

They don't need him to come to them. They should come to him, that's how journalism is done.

Strategies for Presentation

1. Put little info in form of bullet points on your slides/sheets
2. The info should be what you understand and could defend any time.
3. Expound your talk on the bullet points
4. Set question traps on your slides
5. Never say what you don't understand or can't answer questions on
6. Don't start talking when you are not in control of yourself and the stage else you would be on a long thing
7. Link your slides and let there be flow while you present
8. There should be a good introduction and conclusion on the subject. Take your audience on a nice listening ride
9. Remember to thank your audience after you conclude, it shows respect
10. When a question you can't answer comes, don't form actor or boss just let it go by a polite response of providing the answer as soon as you can. It shows integrity, responsibility and care.

My 2cent.
Thank you.

For familiarization, I believe it wld be a lot easier if there would be a briefing day(as in SRD) where candidates would meet before the main assessment day. In this AC, I doubt if there would be such arrangement hence the the available times here wld be the waiting period before the first briefing and coffee break. I don't think lunch time would be useful because some of the activities must have taken place.
With these strategic times, the next task would be how to meet people that would probably want to do something else.
Here are some steps to making this easy:
1. Exchange pleasantries (Greetings).
2. Share your background info and ask to know theirs.
3. Get them on board by asking them for their group exercise strategy.
4. Share your views and experience on group exercises or ACs.
5. Harmonize what they think with your thoughts.
6. Talk about other things that situation may warrant.

It would be great to master the names of the other candidates by using them frequently in all conversations before the main thing. In getting acquainted, don't be bossy in your approach. Try and acknowledge early enough that everyone there is a guru.
To achieve most of these things, you have to get there early enough and stamp your presence. Sometimes, late arrival might give you little or no room to make friends.

Guys, you can add to or modify these suggestions.
Thanks

20 per day. Then two groups , A1-A10 and B1-B10. That's by the 2007 thread. Getting acquainted is the most important unassessed task of the day. It wld definitely bring out the best in you. The question is, how do one get acquainted with 19 other persons before the activities of the day begin?

Or maybe, they want to avoid the delays in the certificate verification process of some schools. What does the verification entail? Why do school waste time on it? Is it not just to confirm attendance, year of graduation and class of degree using the mat no?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by lokodon(m): 5:13pm On Aug 14, 2014
If certificate verification starts now, then we can conclude that just few persons would be dropped after the next stage. We can say that success rate would be over 70%. Rule of Logic. cool

Fret nor Fear not. If the job is yours, nothing would stop you. Not even inexperience nor poor performance. There is a way grace works. Learn that way and follow it.

okzcorp: Very thoughtful bro, buh doing this will defy the stated fact that "they move at the pace of the slower person". If true, then the prompt actually made it obvious that there won't be any carrying. Also if I move at a certain speed carrying a load, my speed will be impeded by the weight I am carrying except if you are saying he or she exerts a negligibile weight that won't affect my speed.
Yeah, the idea is that the two people crossing must always be together. By logic, the only way Audu and and Adesuwa can cross together at a time lesser than 7mins is for Audu to carry Adesuwa which would allow both to go faster but at a time greater than Audu's 1mins hence the doubling (2mins) of the crossing time. My thoughts. Thanks.

airsaylongcon: Example group activity:
There are 4 people Audu,Amaka,Adeyinka and Adesuwa who HAVE TO cross a crocodile infested river at night using a bridge. They have a torch that is absolutely required to see. Audu can cross the bridge alone in a minute while Amaka requires two minutes. Adeyinka requires 5 minutes while Adesuwa needs 7 whole minutes to perform the same feat. The bridge can accommodate a maximum of 2 people simultaneously. If two people are crossing, they can only move at the speed of the slowest person.

Devise a means whereby ALL parties cross the bridge in under 12minutes

(We had to vocalize our ideas with other group members and we DID NOT solve it even though the assessors insisted there was a solution)

Edit:
You require the torch to cross the bridge and the torch CANNOT be tossed back across the bridge
By the information provided, there was no restriction on lifting(a person being carried). We can also conclude that the two persons moving must not have their feet on the bridge. Hence, in 11mins(and possibly 8mins) they wld all be on the other side of the river. Below are the steps:

STEP1: Audu can carry Adesuwa(holding the torch) and cross in twice his time alone ~ 2mins
STEP2: Audu returns with the torch in his time alone ~ 1mins
STEP3: Audi/Amaka carries Adeyinka(holding the torch) and cross in twice his/her time alone ~ 2/4mins
STEP4: Audi/Amaka returns with torch in his/her time alone ~ 1/2mins
STEP5: Amaka and Audi(holding torch) cross in Amaka's time ~ 2mins

TOTAL TIME: 8mins(if Audi did all the lifting) or 11mins(if capable Amaka helped)

Comments:
1. Audu and Amaka were considered able to carry others because they could cross the bridge at lesser times and that is a prove that they were stronger.
2. The doubling of Audu's and Amaka's times was to allow for the drawback on their speed due to the extra load.
3. The carried person's time alone through the bridge was not considered since he has been lifted hence their moving speed not applicable.

Guys, these are my thoughts.
