Following. Contacts of mine have interests in this area. They had some rather bad experience in ogbimoso and are now looking 4 a new alternative in Nigeria just incase the ogbomoso side disappoints again. Someone suggested Abia, Uturu and Afikpo to be precise. We are told the nuts there are of different quality to that in ogbomoso. Do u have any information that can help? So I can pass it on b4 they set off.
I don't know much about abia cashew nuts. what really matters is knowing the KOR (quality) and the NUT COUNTS your client wants. Then you look for where you can get such quality In Nigeria, you may not necessarily need to buy from ogbomosho, you may get the quality in abia, enugu, nasarawa, kogi or kwara.
The KOR of Nigerian cashew nuts range between 38 - 52 kor. If your client wants 40 - 46 kor, you should be able to get from other regions.
Bad eggs are everywhere, you really have to be careful when dealing with some of the agents. What is most important is how to determine the quality of the cashew nuts, I.e how to calculate the KOR and the NUT COUNT.

Weldone bro! I am learning here. Though my city (ogbomoso) is one of the best cashew producing in the world yet I don't know all these technicalities about cashew nut. Pls ride on
Thanks for d compliments sir. Well ogbomosho has the best cashew nuts specifications in Nigeria, not in the world. Countries like cote d'ivoire and benin republic have better quality in Africa.
Vietnam, india and brazil produce some of the best quality in the world.
Ogbomosho cashew is the best we have in Nigeria and it also commands a high value. Most importers and buyers of Nigerian cashew nuts put premium on ogbomosho cashew nuts.
Kogi state has the highest concentration of cashew in Nigeria.

SportsArsenal Are The Most Frustrating Club To Support!!! by lomzy1(op): 11:19am On Nov 07, 2014

http://m.espn.go.com/soccer/blogs/blogpost?w=1ek5n&i=TOP&id=2132462&topslot=1&wjb=

It's official: Arsenal are the most frustrating club in the world to support.. AUNTY MUKINA, IS THIS TRUE?

Moments after Arsenal's extraordinary collapse this week, I tweeted my long-held view that they must be the most frustrating team in the world to support. Gunners fans were quick to agree, but others weren't so sure. A stream of Tottenham and Newcastle fans begged to differ, while supporters of smaller clubs, including my own Southend United, were just as dismissive. But while those clubs and others have problems far more serious than anything ever suffered by Arsenal, the point still stands.

Supporting Southend is not really that frustrating. Though they sit in an entirely respectable seventh position in League Two, generally they're not very good at football. Expectations are low and are only occasionally met.

Newcastle are frustrating in that they keep finding ever more inventive ways to shoot their own feet off, but no one really expects anything different. That's just what they do.

Tottenham's extraordinary habit of investing heavily in one ideology only to scrap it all at great expense and do the opposite two years later is certainly frustrating, but only one person has ever thought they were going to win the Premier League title and that, bafflingly, was chairman Daniel Levy shortly after the sale of Gareth Bale.

Arsenal exist on a different plane of frustration because, unlike those other clubs, great success is always possible. Indeed, great success for Arsenal, given all they have, is actually more probable than possible.

Yet they are so keen to squander their ambitions, and in increasingly ludicrous fashion. They were like the Wet Bandits this week. Bigger, stronger, more experienced than their pint-sized opponent, Anderlecht in the Champions League, they seemed certain to win out, but instead they found themselves being creatively and repeatedly assaulted in the last 20 minutes as they let a 3-0 lead slip away.

What separates Arsenal from the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, Southend and all the other names that streamed on to my timeline on Tuesday night is that they have absolutely no excuses for this. Arsenal have everything in place to be the most successful, trophy-laden club on the planet and their failure to reach their potential is extraordinary.

Newcastle have outstanding support and a wonderful stadium, but in the era of FFP when clubs can only spend what they earn, they're hamstrung by the financial chasm between London and the north of the country. They can get over 50,000 fans through the gates, but they can't charge Arsenal's prices. Nor can they hope to attract the sort of deep-pocketed, international corporate sponsors who have such a presence in the capital.

Tottenham could, hypothetically, match Arsenal in the matchday revenue stakes, but they haven't yet got a stadium to facilitate it. They're held back by White Hart Lane, its 36,000 capacity and its lack of a whopping great business and conference centre attached to the side of the pitch. Such are the sad realities of modern football.

Arsenal have the prime London location and they have their giant stadium. It's almost paid for too. Thanks to Arsene Wenger, they also have an advanced training complex, an excellent academy, a wide scouting network, experienced and qualified staff and a philosophy that will always attract new supporters. Perpetual Champions League qualification enables them, when they choose to do so, to attract all but the biggest names in the game and, most importantly, to pay them high wages without risking the future of the club. All of which explains why so many people took umbrage at the idea of this being a frustrating existence. Most clubs in the world would love to be that frustrated.

But for all that they have, they still cannot make the leap to the top billing, a place they haven't occupied in the last 10 years, and it doesn't look likely to change any time soon. The only teams they've beaten in the league this season are Burnley, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

What makes it all so fist-gnashingly ridiculous, so grind-your-teeth-into-dust annoying is that Arsenal seem to make the same mistakes again and again and again and again until you start to think they're doing it deliberately as some kind of vindictive performance art.

They surge forwards when they don't need to, they lack a defensive midfielder to protect them when it invariably goes wrong, they waste set pieces at one end and then wobble precariously at the other. They overcomplicate, they prevaricate and they do it so often that any rational individual would just give up on them and go and watch something less stressful. Unfortunately, very few supporters are rational.

All of our teams frustrate us, all of them make us feel as if we're cursed, but very few of them are as close to greatness as Arsenal. That's what makes the difference. They should have everything, they should sit astride global football like a king, clutching all of the trophies and laughing their heads off. Instead, it's the rest of the world that can't stop laughing at them.

EXCERPT FROM MY E BOOK (A COMPREHENSIVE TEXTBOOK ON CASHEW NUTS TRADING).

PART 3 (SAMPLES AND QUOTATIONS)

CHAPTER 1

SAMPLE OF QUOTATION FOR CASHEW NUTS (FROM KWARA STATE DELIVERED TO LAGOS)

QUANTITY SUPPLIED 30 TONS

1. CASHEW NUTS @N80, 000/TON: 80,000 X 30 TONS.……………….………….. 2,400.000
2. BAGS (JUTE) @ N350/BAG X 13= N4500/TON: 4500 X 30 …………………. 136,500
3. LOADING @ N50/BAG X 13 = N650/TON: 650 X 30 ……………………………… 19,500
4. LABOUR: (sewing, grading etc) ……………………………………………………………. 10,000
5. PAPERS (from the point of procurement include; association paper… 30,000
Way bill, gate pass, produce fee etc.
6. PRODUCE FEE @ OGERE, OGUN STATE & BERGER, LAGOS STATE …………… 20,000
7. TRANSPORT (from kwara to Lagos) ………………………………………………………… 150,000
TOTAL …………….. 2,763,000

TOTAL COST OF A TRAILER LOAD (30 TONS) OF CASHEW NUTS IS TWO MILILION, SEVEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY THREE THOUSAND NAIRA.
Thus the final price per ton will be: 2,763,000 divided by 30 tons = N92, 100 (NINETY TWO THOUSAND AND ONE HUNDRED NAIRA).
Note that the actual price of cashew nuts per ton is now N92,100. It is now left for you to fix a suitable price for your consignment bearing in mind the actual cost of cashew nuts which is now N92,100 (ninety two thousand, one hundred naira). The profit margin when selling locally is not really attractive due to the competition, but the turnover is quite good. No matter the quantity you want to supply, buyers are always willing to purchase and pay you as soon as possible. There is always a standby buyer wishing to buy as many quantity you can supply at every point in time. There are local buyers/exporters that can buy up to 30 trailers in a day as long as you have goods to supply. They don’t owe suppliers money.
It is advisable to fix your profit margin between 8–15% when selling locally. (20% may be possible though but it is rare, most likely if you are supplying an individual who has an export contract or a private firm but definitely not those indian buying companies in lagos).
let's assume your profit marin is 10%, your sales price will be N101.310…. (9,210 + 92,100 =N101.310). Hence profit margin on a ton will be selling price subtracted by actual cost price: 101,310 – 92,100 = N9,210 Thus profit on a trailer load of cashew nuts (3o tons) will be 9210 x 30 = N276,300
Thus on a two million seven hundred and sixty three thousand investment, you will make two
hundred and seventy six thousand returns which is approximately 10% of your initial investment.
Now let’s assume you are supplying only twice a week, you will be making 276,300 x 2 = N552,600 (five hundred and fifty two thousand, six hundred naira) every week (supplying twice a week may not be possible for every seller,it depends on the supply capabilty of your source and also the availability of capital/fund).
Please note that the above quotation reflects the real cost of a transaction prepared by the author for a client at a particular time. The quotation was based on local transaction for a client from kwara state to buyer’s warehouse in Lagos.
The price of cashew nuts fluctuates almost on weekly basis, so the price of N80, 000 quoted may not be applicable or obtainable always. Price of cashew nuts fluctuated between N68, 000 – N90,000 this 2012 season. Also note that whenever the price of nuts rises, the selling price also rises accordingly.
also note that cost of transportation, produce fee @ ogere and berger can be negotiated. you may get a better bargain from transporters.. N80,000 naira - N100,000 cost could be achieved from ilorin to lagos.
some truck drivers also know how to avoid the fee colectors @ ogere and berger therefore you may end up not paying but you will have to settle the drivers. you also need an escort (not an officer) to follow the truck if you cant travel with the truck. they are usually paid between N5,000 - N10,000.
