I really feel for the woman...

A woman, Mrs Onome Akporode, has given a graphic description of how here limbs were crushed by a bullion van, a police escort and a tipper lorry on July 13, 2015 at Udu road, Delta State.

The woman-of-four, during a cross examination at the High Court of Justice, Udu, on Thursday, disclosed that the policemen escorting the bullion van, who should have stopped to render some help, rather shot sporadically into the air to scare away crowd screaming for help.

According to her, this action was inhumane on the part of the policemen because she was still on the ground bleeding profusely with both legs shattered by the reckless tipper lorry, bullion van and police escort.

Meanwhile, three persons, who were arrested in connection with the accident, were, on Thursday, docked at the High Court of Justice, Udu.

They were charged with attempted murder in the July 13, 2015 bullion van accident along the dualized Udu road, which led to the crushing of the two legs of the mother-of-four, Mrs Akporode.

The trio, Taire Onome Joseph, Edoze Gabriel and Godwin Odobaire, are the drivers of the bullion van, a police escort vehicle and the tipper lorry involved in the accident that crushed the legs of the victim.

Head of the police team that escorted the bullion van, Mr Usman Adamu, who was earlier arrested and detained in company of the defendants, gave details of how the incident occurred.

He also described how four police patrol vehicles were deployed to the bank to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

Mrs Akporode lost her two legs to the reckless driving of a bullion van belonging to a first generation bank, police escort and a tipper lorry by Udu express road.

The victim survived by the whiskers as doctors at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, battle to save her from haemorrhage.

Frantic efforts were exerted by the police and owners of the bullion van to bury the attempted murder, but for the vigilance of human rights activists and the vociferous media.

The matter was later adjourned to March 24 for further hearing.

R.I.P Mama...

Bovi is finally speaking on the passing away of his beloved mother, Dr. Margaret Ugboma. In a Thank You message posted on his Instagram page, few hours ago, the comedian said he spoke with her on the phone one hour before she gave up the ghost. Adding that he is happy to have spent her last days with her. Read his full statement after the cut....

Dr. Margaret passed on a few days ago at age 58. She survived by five children and several grand children....

"THANK YOU! I wanna use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who reached out to me and my family on the sudden passing of my gift, my rock, my backbone, my pride, my teacher; my dear mother! I had the the divine opportunity of spending her very last days with her. And I spoke to her on the phone barely an hour before she left for glory. Please don't mourn with me anymore. Celebrate her life. Though she was only 58, She left us all with so much that all I need to do is pause and listen and her voice hits me with what to and what not to do. I may not see her again physically. But she lives in me now. And those vices I hid from her as a human being, I can't do anymore because as a saint, she sees and knows all. Rest in peace to my beautiful mother, Dr. Margaret Ugboma. Me, Zino, Tano, Tome and Jiji will always love you. Once again, thanks to all of you. Your messages made us strong. Time to wash, pray and eat. Bless!!!!"

Talented and popular Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng a.k.a Skales agreed that engaging in a trade of words with former fellow E.M.E singer, Wizkid was a mistake.
Skales made the revelation on Multi TV’s ‘Let’s Talk Entertainment’ programme saying that, he now realises he his now some people’s role model and has to conduct himself responsibly.

“That’s one of the mistakes I made and I feel like I’m growing in the eyes of the public so definitely, I know that you can never benefit from things like that. So I’ve become a better person now, I’m more grown now, I’ve realized that I’m a role model, a lot of people look up to me and so there’s some mistakes I cannot do,” he said.
