I need your advice.
I'm 34 years old and currently in my 400 level studying Information Technology. I already have a degree in Chemistry, but I decided to return to university to study a more marketable course that would give me better opportunities in the UK, where IT professionals are in high demand.
My plan is to relocate to the UK after obtaining my IT degree, pursue a master's degree in Cybersecurity, and eventually secure a job in the cybersecurity field. I've already completed hands-on practical training in cybersecurity, and I'm becoming very proficient in it.
My concern is about marriage. I don't currently have a girlfriend, and I've been single for over four years. I intentionally stayed out of relationships because I wanted to focus on my studies without distractions.
Now that I'm in my final semester, the ladies I've approached have rejected me. I believe one reason is that they don't want to struggle financially. They are not willing to be with someone who is currently living in a one-room apartment. However, I never told them that I plan to relocate to the UK. I also didn't explain that I'm living modestly because I returned to university and want to reduce my expenses, especially since I hope to relocate in 2027 or 2028.
My question is: Would it be better for me to relocate to the UK first and get married there, or should I return to Nigeria in the future to get married?
I know that if I relocate to the UK and later return to Nigeria, some of the women who rejected me now may become interested. I've also heard different opinions about dating and relationships among Nigerians living in the UK.
I would appreciate your honest advice.

It's unfortunate that in 2026, some men still believe leadership is determined by gender rather than competence. That's not strength. It's insecurity. If men are truly the "better leaders," they shouldn't need to exclude half the population to prove it.

The evidence doesn't support the claim that women can't lead. Countries led by women have achieved outstanding results in economic growth, anti-corruption efforts, crisis management, and governance. Leadership success depends on integrity, vision, and ability, and not chromosomes.

A society that fears being led by a woman is revealing a weakness, not a superiority. Real confidence competes on merit. Only insecurity insists that gender should decide who gets the opportunity to lead.

We had good women that have excel greater than men in certain areas in the past.
The likes of Okonjo Iweka & Kemi Adeosun have proven to be good finance ministers in the past.
Even late Dora was an exceptional leader in NAFDAC. . Late Aisha( Mama Taraba) almost won the 2019 guber election in her state.
