For English:

# please the original/new past question for post ume. It is very important to get it. And if you can, come to the tutorial at Unilag. We are treating the past questions on Eng. And G.P.

# start practising the past questions so that you can become familiar with the strategy used in setting the questions. Try an know where the questions are focused. For example, last year and last two years, most of the questions are from fill in the gaps, nearest in meaning, opposite in meaning, idioms etc.

# once you are familiar with the way they set questions and where the questions come from, start practising with both your jamb and post jamb past question. Try to master all the questions and know how to answer them. You can easily score 20/20 here if you know what you are doing. I scored 72 in English in jamb not because I know all the rules in English but because I was conversant with the jamb past question booklet. (I even wanted to scored 90 if not because of the two poetry books). I'm not trying to brag here. I'm just trying to let you know what is possible.

Salzyswaag: with wat i gathered,dere r about 70 courses in unilag outta which 7 courses r d most competitive including(medicine,pharmacy,law,accounting,bus.admin,economics,pol.sci).d above mentioned courses r likely 2 av at least 1500+ candidates above 200 especially medicine,law n acctn.while averagely competitive courses shld av about 500 candidates abv d 200 mark, while less competitive courses i.e courses aving below 1000 aspirants shld av 200+ candidates abv d 200 mark.dis shld make up d 15000+ candidates.

DONMAYOR19: if u realy wanmt 2 knw abt permutation and combination, try and practice set theory and probability first, not dat u can knw permution and combination without set thoery and probability, but knwin those topic first will increase ur understanding in permution and combination. so d solution to ur questions now...note dat permutation simply means arrangement of number/things or if u see anytin dat is synonymous to arrangement in the question, while combination means selection, chosen, picking of number/things or any word that is synonymous to selection, chosen, picking.
so the number 1 question solution is (4C3 and 5C3 and 6C3), which will give (4!/1! 3! and 5!/2! 3! and 6!/3! 3!)
=(4x3!/1x3! and 5x4x3!/2x1x3! and 6x5x4x3!/3x2x1x3!)
after all division it wil remain (4 and 10 and 20)......note that 'and' means multiplication in probability(that's y is necessary to know probability also.
therefore (4 and 10 and 20) becomes (4x10x20) which gives 800ways......

QUESTION 2 SOLUTION.
There is no condition in the question, that makes it very easy, the question simply means that will should form a committee of 3 men and 4 women(7-people) from a group of 7-men and 9-women.......easy i guess

Application and submission opens 27th of may - 26th of july .The questions will include 20 questions each from maths and english and 15 from 3 relevant subjects making a total of 85 questions to be answered within an hour. The results will be released on the 30th of August
