If you have enough funds, avoid 2009 model amd below. Go for 2010 and above.
2007, 2008 and 2009 models uses the 2.4L engine which is synonymous with burning oil. Thek 2010 and above uses the 2.5L engine.

Don't forget that the cost of hybrid battery replacements is quite expensive..

Just not sure whether to purchase via a dealership locally or buy directly from one of these auctions and ship myself. I have never done this before. This will be my first car as well.

I've heard rumours that most of these dealership mostly buy salvaged cars then Behind it up when it arrives. So am a little worried. And since I haven't shipped large items from overseas before. I am kinda sceptical with regards to the second option as well.

buy it if it's what you want, take very good care of the Engine and transmission by using the right fluid and appropriate change interval.

if the AC compressor fails replace with exact same unit.

Buy the 2008 Camry and ensure

1. you use a synthetic blend oil 5w30 and change every 6months or 8k km utilizing a high mileage capable oil filter along with it.

2. Change the transmission fluid with Toyota WS or Total equivalent (Total MVLV fluid) which is available in total fueling station, to avoid unforseen circumstances you can do this every year or two years tops because of driving Dynamics of our roads.

3. use a well reviewed coolant in your cooling system.

4. The AC compressor too is very sensitive and fails too, replace with the same compressor when it happens and always pay attention to the quality of gas refill used in the system.

5. Don't drive the Camry like a Camaro, if it isn't a Camaro, then it can't drive like a fast sports car.

I understand just that I need to shine eyes well while buying .. I used a Peugeot 406 1999model 1.8 liter Engine with good fuel economy for years now.

The Engine is highly reliable . doesn't disappoint no stories .I just wanted to upgrade to a Toyota brand this time .... The only Toyota Camry I like was this model 2008... Now story about Engine and transmission problem coupled with the dashboard problem .hmmmmmm
