I am person that can't overlook nonsense, assuming that dude was standing close to me, I would have slapped him and damn the consequences.

I will never take back my words, I've said what there is to say, by observing how your dress, socialise, and talk, I can tell what you are made of. Most of these people here are just obsessed with the urge to impress others either by fashion or actions, but I'll stop here and let the issue die.

But, I don't really get the point of what most you here is trying to convey, that they are people that can be gangsters and party riders and still come out with first class?

Well, I can only believe this if you limit it to simple minded courses or other courses that requires nothing but cramming definitions.

My friend, they are fields where that alleged claim doesn't apply to. fields like Pure Mathematics, Sub-atomic physics and Plasma Physics.

Please don't quote me to tell me that all courses are the same, please and please, keep your ignorance to yourselves.

You'll never realise how useless your calculator is until you delve into Combinatorics. Combinatorics is one of those topics in maths that you need to spend like 2 hours observing a question before you can even understand the question.(if you doubt me, I can post a question and it will probably remain here for years and nobody will answer it.)

I will not even delve into Abstract Algebra, Number Theory and Quantum Mechanics in physics, where you'll need to spend a minimum of 6 hours just to prove established theorems, anyone that is familiar with the world of calculations knows what I'm saying is accurate, you can't study these fields and still maintain a social life, ask any maths student studying Topology.

Some students are just in school to collect certificates, so they believe all you need is to pass exams and that's, curiosity mixed with intelligence is what defines a student, the unquenchable urge to Horne your mine. But I'll stop here.

Half of 5 = 3, based on that proportion, what is one third of 10?

MathsChic:
This is more of a puzzle than it is a maths problem. And some fundamental assumptions must be made in order to move forward.
If Cheryl told Albert and Bernard the month and date separately, then she only could have told Albert any of the set (May, June, July, August) and Bernard any of the set (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19).

From the first sentence, Albert claims "I don't know what Cheryl's birthday is, but I know that Bernard doesn't know too". Since Bernard doesn't know too and only knows the date, then the date can't be (18,19), merely because if it were any of the two then Bernard would know for sure what Cheryl's bday is. 18 or 19 would simply mean June 18 or May 19.
So, set of possible values Cheryl could have told Bernard is (14, 15, 16, 17). Albert's conclusion is based on a blanket assumption that Bernard is able to figure this out. Not so good. Albert would also have been told July or August for him to be convinced Bernard doesn't know Cheryl's bday, because if he was told May or June he would have doubts about whether Bernard knows or not.

From the second sentence, Bernard claims "at first, i didn't know what Cheryl's birthday is, but now i know". This can only mean that Bernard has figured out that Albert has only July & August as months. Since he couldn't have had May or June which would have given away the answer long before. But since Bernard has a date already, it means he now knows Cheryl's bday as July 16, the only possible cross between the two available sets. It couldn't have been July or Aug 14, as Bernard then would still not have known what Cheryl's bday is.

From third sentence, Albert now knows Cheryl's bday too, because he has the month. He didnt have the day, but July 16 is the only date he could have, as Aug 15 or 17 would mean he still doesn't know what the bday is.

So, answer is July 16. But seriously, you are the only one doing the thinking here, not Albert or Bernard. I don't think this is a clear puzzle.
You got it right.

People who should be preparing themselves mentally for the extensive and rigorous studies ahead of them, are here asking of they allow P-caps and other sorts of lunacy they call dressing.

On some planet, there are 2N countries (N>= 4). Each country has a flag N units wide and one unit high composed of N fields of size 1 x 1, each field being either yellow or blue. No
two countries have the same flag.
We say that a set of N flags is diverse if these flags can be arranged into an N x N square so
that all N fields on its main diagonal will have the same color.

Determine the smallest positive integer M such that among any M distinct flags, there exist N flags forming a diverse set.

Madmathecian:
Given a positive integer k and other two integers b> w > 1. There are two strings of pearls, a string of b black pearls and a string of w white pearls. The length of a string is the number of pearls on it.
One cuts these strings in some steps by the following rules. In each step:

(i) The strings are ordered by their lengths in a non-increasing order. If there are some strings of equal lengths, then the white ones precede the black ones. Then k first ones (if they consist of more than one pearl) are chosen; if there are less than k strings longer than 1, then one chooses all of them.

(ii) Next, one cuts each chosen string into two parts differing in length by at most one.
(For instance, if there are strings of 5, 4, 4, 2 black pearls, strings of 8, 4, 3 white pearls and k 4, then the strings of 8 white, 5 black, 4 white and 4 black pearls are cut into the parts (4,4), (3,2), (2,2) and (2,2), respectively.)
The process stops immediately after the step when a first isolated white pearl appears.

Prove that at this stage, there will still exist a string of at least two black pearls.
Nobody is going for my question?

All the 7-digit numbers containing each of the digits 1,2,3,4, 5,6, 7 exactly once, and not divisible by 5, are arranged in the increasing order. Find the 2000-th number in this list.

Show detailed working.
