Okay, so I have been speculating for months sitting on the fence wondering if it's safe, straightforward and stress free exploring Cotonou cars, I had read countless testimonies about tadeus' good work but somehow I was waiting for just 1 negative remark as a deal breaker not minding all the good. I got tired of waiting and took a shot at it, called Tadeus lastnight and all was arranged with requirements for the trip, speaking to him on phone cud give u the impression he's proud but he's far from it, gentle guy and very committed to his most raved about attribute, customer satisfaction. Unfortunately I didn't get what I wanted as there were only literally about 7 that we saw of it out of possibly over 10,000+ cars in over 20 large lots which I'm still shocked about considering that it's a toyota. Out of the 7, only one was the spec I wanted and the owner took advantage of that to over price his car. I have since left him but he says he will go back to the dealer to plead with him to come down, let's see how that goes. So to those who are sitting on the fence, I guarantee u that it's safe to go down to Cotonou with Tadeus. Virtually all the customs guys knew him at every checkpoint. #sureguy |

rickkychidex111:Mr Vendor, in abid to sweetly market your product, you must be careful about false marketing, this es 350 in question, well judging from pictures you posted, does not have the mark levinson premium sound with 17 speakers because the trims that have premium sound have mark levinson signed/written just above the double pointer button on the audio console. 2ndly, this vehicle does not produce 300 hp+, it produces 268 hp similar to the 2013+ avalon as they use the same wheel base and engine. 3rdly you said it has an 8"infotainment screen as well as a 12.3" nav screen, the infotainment and nav system share one screen and its 8", the GS 350 on the other hand does have the 12.3" screen, it appears you just copied, pasted and mixed up both vehicle specs. #iownone |

salam12:Apparently there is away around it, the get the duty papers from tin can which is same thing as clearing car in Lagos, therefore making buying from cotonou as expensive as buying from Lagos. Where one wud save close to 1m+, now one can only save 200k. Its painful tho, as Cotonou was our last hope for affordable rides. |

OP! I have had to pick my jaw up from the ground floor of 3 story building. I swear I'm dazed!! You mean you sent a stranger all the way in badagry 5m+ from the comfort of your home in PH expecting customer satisfaction? You must be some cash lord, even engine people would rather use someone they know or that can be verified as a trust worthy individual not to now talk of a whole car that cost you 5m, of which I feel you were cheated. That money could have got you much better car. For that amout you should have been able to get a 2014camry from cotonou. You can get a very clean naija used 2012 venza, 2012 E350, 2011 jaguar xf...&so many more. That amount would have got you a Toks 2011 Acura TL which in my opinion is one of the best luxury technology packed rides for less than 6m. A lot of people are not aware of that car. The tech package version is bad, the car literally interacts with you.. (Please wear your seat belt, please reduce your speed etc). The 7.1dolby surround sound system is bad ass.. And you now went for a Camry, its too basic for that price.. OP im sorry, but you fumble, you are lucky you got your customs funds back, others will just say they have spent the money and you will be the frustrated one. On the other hand, I'm now scared to deal with these Cotonou dealers, I'm about to transact with Mr. Tadeus but now I'm worried. 2 Likes |

Poster, you are right, CBN initially wanted to sell dollar to banks at 320 but they realized it will crash fast and decided to up it to 375 so they can make a good profit margin before it goes below 300, it will eventually settle between 250 and 270. But I must say that its a "bubble" and will burst after 6 to 8 months as we don't have direct dollar trading. The money CBN released is borrowed. There will be a lot of panic buying. I am glad to say that car dealers will cry blood as they will run into losses, even tho majority of the over priced cars they have were pre dollar hike cars. Hello all, thankx for the responses and suggestions. I have since been chasing the mec who initiated this problem after changing engine seal, he kept saying the rewire that would know the solenoid connection hasn't returned from his holidays. I was frustrated with the delay as I didn't know what effect it would have on the engine. I decided to surf the net to get location of the sensor, all diagrams showed it to be exactly opp the oil filter. So this morning when engine was cool, I looked for the solenoid, found it, lo and behold, I saw two wires with sockets dangling just beside it, I also noticed a socket on the solenoid with two pins without a a connection. I was shocked, I drove to the mec, showed him and asked what those wires were, he kept quiet, then called his boy to jack the car up to plug in the wires, immediately the car was out of limp mode and reved above 3000rpm.. I instantly started shouting at him but inside I was thrilled. He adviced I changed the oil and filter as engine had been running on low capacity. i know this is coming years after but my wifes 07 v6 accord has exact issue, just as you described, engine seal was replaced by mec a month ago and issue started a week after he returned car. he says the fuel pump needs replacemnet, thank goodness i researched this 1st. i have since told the mec about your experience but he doesnt know how to locate the soleniod, can you recommend someone that can fix and how much did it cost then? thankx 1 Like |
