GREATNESS25:
The 25K is for 5 persons, husband and wife and 3 children
ALL SPOT on at what cashmadam stated.

In my own case I am self employed. Though I am a FREQUENT traveler and have had multiple UK visas, i always renew my visa as though its a fresh application.

I had less than a million naira in my primary personal account infact in one of my accounts I had less than 20, 000 naira but their was history of inflows and outflows which were substantial amounts and evidence that I was the one spending as some were POS transactions and withdrawals.
My business account had the bulk of my funds but also evidence that I am able to spend from my business account. Which also reflected in the statement of account for things like domestic staff salaries, kids fees etc

I moved money into another personal account from my business account which I had intended to use to pay for the visa fees for myself and family the day before printing my statement. This didn’t raise any issues because funds came from my business account and it wasn’t an usual thing.

To be honest, if I were the ECO I’d also have refused you.

GREATNESS25:
How can this be addressed
Did you add a cover note explaining your source of income etc?
The 25k does sound outrageous sha.
I think you need to shed more light on the the circumstances so people here can advise you appropriately. Their a lot of folks in here who are very knowledgeable on this.
How many kids etc?
I think we always assume they will understand. These guys like explanations and transparency.

Biometrics: 23rd September
UKVI: Application arrives at DMC 25th Sept
DHL email: 30 Sept (passport is being returned)

No refusal nor decision-made email. Who has had an experience like this please.
If you did not get a refusal mail from UK visa decisions then be expecting to see a visa in your passport.

An update of timeline for those who may be worried about their application(s) taking longer than 7 days. Coincidentally I knew a number of people that applied around the same time and the latest time anyone received their visa back was 7 days. None of them did priority.
For context everyone of them including me are frequent travelers. We also all had previous UK visas.
Mine took 13 working days, I submitted along with my child. The only difference in the application with the people I knew were that they applied alone - no spouse or child(ren)
I tracked up until this morning and nothing but got an email by noon to pick up our passports so I am also not sure if the VFS tracking actually works in real time.
Sharing this because of the anxiety of the wait and I knew how much I was looking for answers.

any advice on what to do.
Have you had a second look at your form?
What I see in the letter is 300,000 per annum.
It is possible you may have missed out the additional zero.
- it’s always best to submit a status update instead of the actual CAC certificate. The status update shows company is active and all details of the company.
- for multiple funds that come into your personal account which has been termed as unknown sources, you could explain the funds.

Please how does one contact UKVI of an application has taken more than 15 working days? This is the 16th working day and nothing
Weirdest thing, just got a mail about it just as I sent this message in grin
Fingers crossed it is positive. Do they usually send a mail first if it is negative . I just received one that said a decision has been received and passport will be sent if courier service had been booked
That’s great! I think they normally send a refusal mail first. So I believe it’s good news.
Now I know some of us that ours are taking longer that 7 days aren’t alone.
Are you self employed? Trying to understand your position

I did my biometrics on the 8th of September I’m yet to get any email from ukvi or vfs I’m scared don’t know if any one is having the same problem.
Same issue and I have a good travel history with an expired UK visa. Stay optimistic and trust in God to perfect it all. I can relate with you on the heightened anxiety. Just leave it all to God at this point as you have nothing else you can do.

I took a big risk with my UK visa application, but God came through for us. Honestly, I had no plans of applying in August, but circumstances forced me to go ahead. My wife’s account was disorganized and couldn’t be used. My own accounts were scattered too, most of my funds were in savings, but I didn’t want to submit that. Just a week to my biometric, I had to move money from savings to current, which appeared as “own account transfer.” My wife also sent back some money she was holding for me, and she caption it as “to my husband.”

To make matters worse, I wasn’t sure my naira balance would be enough, so I turned to my dollar account. The last inflow there was in April, just $850, a refund from a loan I gave a friend. By August, only $300 was left, so a week to biometric I lodged $1,300 cash I had been keeping at home. Honestly, my accounts looked messy, but I had no option.

I decided to apply for my wife too. I only submitted her passport, employment letter, marriage certificate, and cover letter. Every other document like payslips, naira and dollar statements, my employment letter, and my brother’s invitation letter came from me. I purposely left out her bank statement. In my cover letter I didn’t explain any lodgements, I only stated that I use the domiciliary account to save in dollars and also stated that i received salary increment and arrears were paid in July.

I also explained the salary increment I got in March 2025 and the arrears paid in July, which showed in my payslips. Although much of that money had already been moved, I still submitted statements from January to date.

My wife had her biometric on 4th August, mine was on the 8th, and today, we both received collection mails at the same time and visa issued to both of us. Normally, my renewals take 8 days, but this one took over 2 weeks.

My travel history is strong: valid 5-year US visa, two previous UK visas, and visits to France, Ghana, Rwanda, and Morocco. My wife, on the other hand, had no travel history at all and doesn’t earn much compared to me.

Honestly, I feared the recent transfers and lodgments would cause refusal.I also made a mistake while filling out my wife’s application form. In the section asking how much she would be spending, I mistakenly entered the amount I intended to sponsor her with. However, I believe I clarified this in my sponsorship letter and in the additional information section.
Congrats on your visa and that of your wife. This is such a relief. I have made sure to explain funds but I have just been worried because of how erratic some visa officers can be. You are the first person who has said they got their visa in 2 weeks.
Nairaland has been my therapy as well as the reason for my heightened anxiety 😥
Honestly the not knowing and the long weight is mental torture

15 working days.
Anything less is by luck.
Thanks for the quick response. Now extremely worried and anxious as I know 3 other people who applied after me and also got within 7 days. I am a frequent traveler too and been to Europe 7 times in the last one year excluding trips to Africa.

Good evening house, I have been reading and found that people are getting their visa between 5- 7 days. Has anyone gotten approved after 7 days. It has been 9 days now and I am yet to get a response.
This isn’t my first uk visa.
