Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to
my
path.
The word of God directs us in our
works and ways, and a dark place indeed the
world
would be without it. The commandment is a
lamp kept burning with the oil of the Spirit, as a
light to direct us in the choice of our way, and
the steps we take in that way. The keeping of
God's commands here meant, was that of a
sinner under a dispensation of mercy, of a
believer having part in the covenant of grace.
The psalmist is often afflicted; but with longing
desires to become more holy, offers up daily
prayers for quickening grace. We cannot offer
any thing to God, that he will accept but what
he
is pleased to teach us to do. To have our soul
or life continually in our hands, implies constant
danger of life; yet he did not forget God's
promises nor his precepts. Numberless are the
snares laid by the wicked; and happy is that
servant of God, whom they have not caused to
err from his Master's precepts. Heavenly
treasures are a heritage for ever; all the saints
accept them as such, therefore they can be
content with little of this world. We must look
for
comfort only in the way of duty, and that duty
must be done. A good man, by the grace of
God,
brings his heart to his work, then it is done
well..Father give me the grace to run this race
to the very end..Amen..

For those who love my poems. God gave them

Creation is Preparatory

1.
‘God made heaven and earth in the beginning’,
this is what the Bible is saying.
It is the most compact comment on God’s
greatest planetary event.
Creation was the launching action, not more
than being the introduction,
As if God had made the universe, while on His
way to greater works.
2.
Creation is preparatory, the foreword of the
actual story.
Job says, of God, in his old days, “These are
the girdles of His ways”
Like a man would pass on wet grass, his
trailing garment leaving marks,
So God was on His way from creation to
salvation, even before Adam’s day.
3.
God’s still moving towards greater goals: a
bride for His Son and saving souls.
Creation’s prologue has it’s culmination in the
epilogue of our salvation:
“It is finished!” was Jesus proclaiming, with
heaven and earth reverberating.
But God keeps striding, as His Word has shown,
to more glorious works – to us yet unknown.

Here is a poem God gave me last Sunday. It is
somehow different, but the Holy Spirit is

Knowledge

Bible knowledge is not intellectual, but a deeper
feel for truth and most exceptional.
The media of faith and love make truth to glow
from God above.
Head knowledge never shall replace the joy on a
believer’s face.
Faith is ongoing knowing, like a spouse needs
no remembrance in the house.
2.
‘If anyone wills to do God’s will…’ is the secret
principal of knowledge still.
‘You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures
nor the power of God’, said the Lord.
This startled the learned in Jesus’ time, and
many today don’t see it rhyme.
Simple faith is strong and deep and has a
comprehensive sweep.
3.
In Jesus, God entered into humanity, belonging
to a family.
The Son of God became the Son of Man, spread
wisdom, sorting out the spam.
Adoration had a new dynamic, with Christ- and
Cross‑placed Christian worship.
‘The Lord of Hosts’ became ‘Abba, Father’
stooping down, until no further.
4.
The candle flame of humans glimmers before
snuffed out by winds of time.
The lamp of God does never flicker, spreading
glorious light sublime.
By His Spirit He does impart the greatest
wisdom of His heart.
It is too wonderful for me, a gift, a blessing –
and that all for free.
