Intelligent people know when to attack and when to sheathe their swords. The heavens won't fall if you f***lishly allow a stronger adversary to take your life because nothing would happen to him after you must have been long gone. The US president is only looking for enough justification and must have hoped Iran wouldn't take this dying-minute U-turn. I'm actually disappointed and maybe I'm a terrible person who needs spiritual cleansing because why would anyone want the roasting so badly but we bless God that this mishap was eventually thwarted by the mullahs' dying-minute sanity restoration.

The USA initially never wanted a deal from IRAN, what they wanted was their 15 points Agenda deal to be accepted or they the war continues.

But the usa has also accepted iran 10 point agenda deal which is Subject to deliberation by the USA authorities.

Both countries will agree or disagree, iran will bow some of USA demand, so also USA will bow to Iran demand. That is diplomacy.

Even if they rescued the soldier, they lost too much in the rescue operation for a country that claims they have totally obliterated Iran's military. They lost two c 130 planes, and 2 helicopters on a rescue mission. That's a lot. Ok, let me tell you what Air defense means, so as to save you from ignorance:
Air defense systems are put in place to protect the country's airspace, notifying authorities of threats far before they enter and taking proactive measures. The Russian S-500/S-400, US Patriot PAC-3/THAAD, and Israel's David's Sling/Iron Dome are multi-layered air defense systems. Surface-to-air missiles are also air defense, but MANPADS are not. But unfortunately, America is dealing with a very primitive army that relies on primitive weapons when its Chinese and Russian air defenses have been obliterated. And, of course, you will be surprised by how effective primitive weapons can be against sophisticated equipment.

E.g., a helicopter may be able to defend itself against jet and surface-to-air missiles. But an underated AK47 can bring down the same helicopter.

So, ALL of Iran's air defense is down. They now rely on primitive luck. Which can be very effective at times.
