I think what he is trying to say is, you hardly see Nigerian artist's CD's in SA music stores like the "MUSICA MUSIC STORES" and so forth, this is due to nigerian music not so developed in a sense of Artist having an album and selling real CDs in the music stores like what SA has. Nigerian music is largely informal, hence Nigerian artists may have a hit but still poor. The economic of music is none existance.

Ask yourself why the big recording companies are not there in Nigeria, but they are all in SA, there is UNIVERSAL MUSIC, SONY MUSIC, EMI in south africa. Do you have music stores in Nigeria? Does wizkid/davido know How many records they sell whenever they release an album? The answer is a big "NO". But in SA, you would hear Cassper or AKA saying he has reached gold or platinum, but you would hardly hear a Nigerian artist saying he has reached Platinum or gold. Whereas SA muscians are making millions in CD's sales. In south africa, everytime cassper nyovest's song gets played on TV or radio, he gets paid for that by the radio/tv channel. It is called "Royalties". Does that happen in nigeria? a big "NO". Radio and TV stations pay for playing artist music, its not for free. The more your music gets played on radio and TV, the more money you get as royalties.

So ask yourself which music industry between the two nations is more lucrative.
