So the excuse they are making for him is that because he is a rapper he will not blow in the music industry. Olamide , Iceprince, MI, Naeto C, Phyno etc established themselves as rappers and were able to compete with their counterparts in the music industry when they were young in the industry. Omah lay is a singer, Laycon is a rapper.

A singer needs little or no influence to blow provided he comes up with nice beats and lyrics. and comes under a popular label.

Compared to a rapper, that will have to promote himself massively or come under a very popular label.
Ask yourself, how many fast growing rappers do you know in Nigeria. Mention 2 that's popular apart from Laycon and I will give you my life savings.
Now compare that to how many popular fast growing singers you know..They choke.
Rappers need extra ordinary promotions to get themselves out to the world. Laycon got his own through BBN and I'm grateful for that.
