The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has hiked telecom tariff in Nigeria by 50 percent.
NCC Director, Public Affairs, Dr. Reuben Muoka, in a statement on Monday, said the decision to approve requests from Mobile Network Operators, MNOs, was in pursuant to its power under Section 108 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 (NCA) to regulate and approve tariff rates and charges by telecommunications operators.
