lonelygem: shame on on them and their yeye governance ideology.
there was never a time poverty is not in jubilation state in Nigeria or African countries as a whole. as far as memory can permit me, so called president was a well grown adult when OFN was lunched way back then prioritizing food security. I grew to know what is called 'iyan Buhari' meaning Buhari's pounded yam. all these were nicknames given to the food items door step delivery intervention programs that we enjoyed as a growing child and our parents appreciated till date. Reasons why our parents who were school teachers with such meager income were able to sponsor 3, 4 kids through University same time.
Talking about the toddlers scouting around Abuja roads for means of survival, at what point has it become a concern to him if not for the embarrassment it posses on him siting such heartrending situation they've constantly swept under the carpet. must every hungry Nigerians pick up a plastic bowl to beg for alms before this government feel concern?? because some people's condition is worse than what you see the kids doing on the street.
I have gone to eat at an eatery where an average age Nigerian youth whisper in my ears that I should please assist him by leaving a little leftover that he would know how to pick up my plate afterwords.. when I interacted with him, he wasnt actually a begger, he had stayed two days without food and he had to stay out of jod because the salary couldnt cater for transportation and coupled with several other factors..
Northerners have embraced their problems over years and surviving through whichever means, why is the government trying to downplay its primary responsibility to the nation as a whole..
people have landed properties that had been abandoned for fear of banditry. it takes grace of God to leave for work in the morning and come back home safely without a story that touch..
in the space of 4 days, my street was robbed twice. this is a street that has police post 300 meters away.. we put a call across to police, the DPO responded with sleepy voice and it took over three hours before they eventually called back that they didnt have fuel to move and they couldnt locate the particular street on foot.
I think the Government should just be focused on its responsibilities to its citizen before pointing accusing fingers.
'Na papa wey get property fit get mouth to say e wan disown pikin no be the one wey pikin don already know say in no get anything to gain from the papa afterall..' Your write up is full of words that are reasonable but out of point on the subject matter. He's talking about family planning, as one of the sources of insecurity in the North. Even communism system of government cannot solve such challenges of unplanned polygamous family. |

AMINDA: This is not politics, unless you're calling what is playing out in Cameroon under Paul Biya, politics. Turning democracy on its head because you have presidential powers is not politics. Other president's have graced this seat too in the past. They didn't play politics this way. Actions that can destroy the national fabric of this country cannot be summarily categorised as politics. It's highly illogical to be comparing Nigeria democratic methods with Cameron. Nigeria has limitations of two terms while Paul Biya enjoying unlimited tenure so far he's alive, he can continue to contest election in Cameron. |

Politics › Re: You Will Never Be President - Fani-Kayode Slams Peter Obi Over NADECO Comment by Mccullum: 11:35am On Apr 04 |
Macphenson: A NADECO member removed A Democratically Elected Governor and Installed a Military Administraor for 6 months. The Military administrator conducted a Sham Local Govt elections and is alleged to have Embezzled over N300 billion in said 6 months.
A NADECO member detained children from Northern Nigeria who were Minors for over 3 months simply because they were Protesting Bad Governance. The kids were starved in prison so Badly some of them Fainted when arraigned in Court. Nothing was done about the Issue they were protesting over.
A NADECO Member changed the Nigerian National Anthem from our Beloved “Arise O Compatriots” to some colonial BS without consulting anybody after barely spending 1 year in Office.
A NADECO member has fought the Opposition to the Point that He allegedly Instigates Rival factions within their Parties to cause Crisis, he Publicly Celebrated that the Opposition was in disarray & Unlooks while the Courts and Electoral Bodies continue to shift the Election Goal Posts to Favour Him.
A NADECO member illegally extended the Tenure of the Inspector General of Police who was meant to Resign in 2024 all the way to 2027. Only for said IGP to resign in February 24, 2026, citing "Pressing Family Considerations".
A NADECO member has been in AsoRock since 2023 and Amnesty International records that more than 13,000+ Nigerians have been killed by Bandits, Terrorists and Herdsmen. Btwn May 2023 and March 2026. He has not Banned OPEN Cattle Grazing or addressed the Terrorism Issue Squarely. Neither does he Visit the Victims or Areas affected by violence. The situation got so Bad the US President issued a Warning to the Nigerian Govt and actually Missiled Terrorist Locations in Nigeria.
A NADECO member removed fuel subsidy but Instead of channeling the Windfall into critical areas of The country that will Benefit the Masses directly He shared the Money amongst the State governors TO DO AS THEY like with little to Zero oversight.
A NADECO member Chokes the allowance of Governors who don’t Support Him or Port over to his Party to the point that the Governor of his own Home state has accused him publicly of withholding over ₦130 billion of their local government statutory allocations.
A NADECO member has 31 out of 36 state Governors. His party has 84 out of 109 Senators plus 241 out of 360 Seats in the House of Reps yet He cannot boast of Winning his ReElection based On Merit and Openly does not Not plan to Conduct Free & Fair Elections.
A NADECO member told you Abacha was a Bad person but got into Power and retained the man who helped Abacha Launder Over $3 billion in the 1990s As his Minister for Budget and Planning.
This And a Thousand other Atrocities.
General Sani Abacha was a Saint when he was in Power compared to these Guys; the Facts and the Data is There.
Fear NADECO members Your write up is full of ignorance and you need to remove your emotions by studying constitution as that will guide you proper. For instance, president has discretionary power to extend IG or any chief of security services. Even in ministry, simply because these are appointment positions not by year of service. |
