Today they’re crying, tomorrow they’re jubilating. Instead of passing a stern warning to those bringing problems to their communities they’re rather dancing.
Who are the people bringing problems to their community?
Triangles1: Soludo the man that I like because he's way of thinking is different from ipobs but please, do something better that the world would remember.
The Topic talked about Kano and Anambra based on the fact that a Northern News Paper published that Kano generates more Vat Than the SE states combined. now i was reading through expecting to be educated, all of a sudden i started seeing OGUN state. i read till the end and all i saw were abuses and insults. What even caught my attention were the large number of Yoruba's defending exactly what i don't understand. I assumed this was a debate between KANO/ANAMBRA. wtf are these Afonjas doing in this thread??
oyatz: CRUDE oil is a raw material ,which Nigeria is selling in it's raw form to get Forex, to import finished materials like drugs, vehicles, designers wears, chocolate etc.
All these Agricultural raw materials can be turned to semi-finished or even finished goods to get Forex or even get the goods we need without going through Forex e.g if we can plant thousands of acres of sugar canes, we can harvest them and refine the canes to produce sugars for our domestic and industrial consumption without the need for Forex. The bye-products from the refining of sugar can become raw materials for the production of Fish and poultry feeds.
Unlike the oil industry that doesn't employ many of our people, these Agricultural based industries will employe so many people in different parts of the country.
The amount of money we use to import goods, derived from these Agricultural produce is far higher than whatever we receive as rents/royalties by the International oil companies for extracting and exporting our crude oil.
You think it's that easy? Name 10 countries in the world that are among the richest in the world solely through agriculture and I would name 10 that are richer using oil. A country can never become rich solely on agriculture because most countries can farm.
This is completely unnecessary and senseless. My indigenous language was not taught to me formally. I learnt it through my parents. Learning a language takes one a minimum of 6 months and a whole year to master when taught in a classroom. We learn English for approximately 12-14 years of our lives in a classroom. If anyone claims not to understand English language for that period is either a slowpoke or a complete idiot. If you cannot understand a language taught within that long period, is it further mathematics that the person's brain would be able to comprehend in his indigenous language? Break this fucking country so that if you want to teach suicide bombing as a course then you are free to do so. Don't use your mediocrity to run our brain down.
oyatz: Let's assume that Niger-Delta and it's oil secede, will the people ;
1) Rearing cattle, goats and sheep stop working?
2) Will the people planting sugar cane, rice, beans, onions, pepper, ginger stop working?
3) Will the timber , cocoa, kolanuts business stop? 4) Will the production of eggs and poultry products end?
All these agricultural produce won't give you the necessary forex to sustain a country the way Oil does. No country survives effectively selling kolanuts. Better look at the bigger picture.
In what is probably his major last press briefing as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, AIG Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu has given a report of the activities of the Nigeria Police under his administration in the last quarter of year 2021 covered by NAOSNP President, Oki Samson at the Police Command headquarters in Ikeja. This is consistent with the traditions of the Lagos Police Boss to address security issues in the state on a quarterly basis.
The newly promoted to the Rank as Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu expressed: ‘It is our tradition to bring back to the people that we serve, that is why you have been invited to witness this. Recently the Command designed and put in place new security measures while strengthening eixisting security apparatus. We carefully reviewed security strategies coupled with operational strategies consciously put in place to keep Lagos safe have led to modest achievement at the last quarter of the year.’
‘Nobody sees himself without a mirror, you are the mirror of the Command. You can rate our performance than us rating ourselves. But one thing is clear, Lagos is safe, shall continue to remain safe, and the best and safest place in Nigeria. There are so many organizations and people coming to Lagos because there is peace and security. Hotels are booked up because there is peace and security. There are so many concerts and conferences going on because there is security.’
On the criminal activities that they foiled, he shared: ‘Some of the criminal elements were arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery, cultism, murder, stealing, illegal security outfit, etc. Miscreants were equally arrested during raids of criminal hideouts in Lagos while human parts, military accoutrements, firearms, etc were recovered. Suspects have been charged to court after completion of our investigation.’
Addressing the question of cult groups posed by journalists during the press briefing, AIG Hakeem O. Odumosu shared: ‘when we came in, the issue of 1 million boys sending jittery messages to many parts of Lagos was common. Then we had No Salary Boys came in. Then Awawa Boys came in at another period. We did what the law said we should do and now, you can’t hear of Awawa Boys, 1 Million Boys, No Safety Boys, we have dealt with them according to law. No one can say that they receive letters from these groups. We trust that the CP taking over from me will continue so that Lagos will continue to be peaceful’.
The newly-promoted AIG H. O. Odumosu added: ‘Three days ago, I had to go to the Lagos House of Assembly to appreciate them because many bills have been passed and signed by the Lagos State Government which has made Lagos state safe. One of the laws is the anti-cultism law. It has brought so many people to be responsible and conscious. The law that was repealed had no punishment for landlords, parents, hoteliers, and those aiding and abetting cultists.’
‘But this new law has involved all those groups of people. This has made all facility owners to screen for what purposes their facilities will be used. It has brought consciousness of landlords, landladies, and agents what are the means of livelihood of their tenants. Before they don’t care what the person does as long as he can afford to pay. The parents too are involved for not reporting their children who are involved in cultism, it is 2 years. Those who aid and abet in terms of allowing cultists to escape when police are pursuing, there is punishment for that. And we are enforcing it. That is why these things have gone down.’
The AIG hinted on the issue of stolen vehicles, ‘If there is no willing seller there will be no willing buyer. There must be interest in what to sell, what to buy, and how much to buy. If you cook a pot of rice today and nobody buys, same thing tomorrow, next tomorrow you won’t cook. I appeal to the general public when they advertise to you, try to find out the source before buying.’
On the law preventing the parade of suspects in public, the AIG Odumosu noted that the law have to be obeyed by the Police. ‘It is an honour to be the first Commissioner of Police to address the Lagos House of Assembly on the law talking about parading suspects. I told them I quite understand their mindset to enact the law to protect human rights of citizens. If you are paraded by the press, you still remain a suspect until a court of competent jurisdiction convicts the persons.’
‘If at the end of the day, the person is discharged and acquitted and you have been paraded as suspect, what happens? That is the mindset and I appreciate that. But we have to think of strategies to discourage criminality so we have to meet at a point. That is why you don’t see our men as you used to do. We need to obey the laws of the state.’
kingawothefirst: Other countries are working on building their nations. Una still dey argue about tribes in Nigeria. By the way biafra ceases to exist, know this and know peace.
Work on bettering yourself and helping your family to do well, that is the only way forward, your nation will be better for it.
Let your word be your bond, don’t say one thing one day then turn around and switch mouth because you think we will forget and not hold you onto account. Igbos made promises to Nigeria after the civil war ended, uphold your promises and let peace rain in Nigeria, stop distracting the government with your bullshit.
When I see a southerners who shout one Nigeria and preach patriotism, I realize that the black man's problem isn't just about being stupid but his inferiority complex and lack of ability to think deeply. You praise the white man and Arab because they gave you Jesus and Mohamed and made sure you have the mentality that your own God's are evil and devilish. Why do we blacks especially Nigerians think that the white man is the only person who is right? Why can't we take decisions for ourselves are we created to be slaves to the white people?
kufre2010: Igbos are suffering for trying to go against the will of God for Nigeria. Nigeria is not to be divided but to become a world power that will protect the black race.
Igbos need to be humble and stop bragging about how they are better and wiser than anyone else in Nigeria.
Then Igbos should embrace Igbos traditional cultures more just like Yoruba and Hausa and minimise their chanting of holy mary that does not help.
Jonathan run from church to church yet it did not help him win the 2015 election
[/s]I would tolerate you insulting me than this rubbish you just wrote.
kinibigdeal: Osun is still better than Abia in all ramifications. You should be worried if the Niger delta refused to join Biafra. That’s death end to the east. No access to the sea, gully erosion, etc
But the east have been the ones fighting for secession. Jokes on you. You think Obasanjo did not see the suffering that would engulf the SW if you divide? By the way, countries do not depend on agriculture these days. Science and technology is the way forward.
Bashir75: Who is this uncouth child of anger and depression? Who born your ignorant type? Lagos, my homeland and South West do not need oil to prosper. We are strategically located and positioned. When your father was in village, in Igboland the Yoruba generated revenue to keep him and your biafrans alive. Why are you blaming the Yorubas for your father’s failure to raise you well. That’s why we don’t care anymore, if you split the country we are good and if you continue like this, we are good. You and your ancestors historically till date seek asylum in our land.
[/s] abeg, when did Yorubas generate revenue that kept Biafrans alive? I am beggining to question Awolowos free education or is this what your elders tell you under the mango tree?
kasim155: Don't mind them, they think is by having oil here n there, leadership matters in this case, that is one big advantage UAE have above Nigeria, even with all our oil and others resources, UAE is still far better that Nigeria as a whole.
You better team up with the North and fight for Nigeria. Because if we divide, nothing for Afonja's. Na Hunger be that.
