If you’re running a WordPress site in Nigeria, listen up — this is for you!

The National Information Technology Development Agency just sent out a serious security alert about a new vulnerability called CVE-2024-28000, affecting over 5 million websites globally.




The problem? It’s with the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, a tool many people use to speed up their websites. Hackers can exploit this and potentially take full control of your site. Yep, it’s as bad as it sounds.




Here’s the scoop: the issue lies in the plugin’s “role simulation” feature, which gives cybercriminals admin access to your site without needing a password.

Once they’re in, they can install malicious plugins, steal your data, or even redirect visitors to sketchy websites. It’s a huge deal, and you don’t want to be on the receiving end of this.




To make things worse, the attack is easy for hackers to pull off, thanks to a weak hash function and the simplicity of the exploit.

They can brute force their way in or use exposed debug logs to grab admin rights. If your site gets hit, you could be dealing with data theft, site defacement, or worse, your visitors being sent to dodgy websites.




But don’t freak out just yet — there’s something you can do! NITDA recommends you update the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to the latest version (6.4.1) ASAP.




You can do this in your WordPress dashboard under “Plugins.” Also, turn off debugging on live sites (it can expose sensitive info) and regularly check your plugin settings for risks.




While LiteSpeed Cache helps boost your site speed, it has had its share of vulnerabilities in the past, from cross-site scripting to privilege escalation.

Cardi B says she regrets marrying Offset: 'Always been too good for you'

Things are getting messy between Cardi B and Offset amid their second divorce.


During a series of Instagram Lives on Wednesday night, Cardi accused her estranged husband of blowing up her phone trying to make her jealous over him moving on from her, according to screen recordings shared on social media, including by hip-hop magazine XXL.

The "WAP" rapper also said she regrets her relationship with him.

During her livestreams, Cardi seemingly avoided naming the Migos rapper but spoke directly to him.

Cardi, who's in France for Paris Fashion Week, said "I don't care" about any other women with whom Offset might be having relations: "I'm too much woman for you. ... And I've always been too good for you.

Nothing surprises me anymore. You've done it all, so I don't care," she said at a different point in the livestream.

"Thank you for my kids, though. All three of them, I don't regret none of them. But I regret you. I don't regret my kids; you're a good daddy. You're all right."

"I don't want you dead because ... my kids love you down," Cardi also said. "So I would never do that. And I really follow street codes."

Cardi B says she and Offset might be in a 'court war'

The on-again-off-again couple married in 2017 and share three children: Kulture, 6, and Wave, 3, and a newborn child.

Cardi announced the birth of their third child more than a month after news of her pregnancy and divorce came out on the same day. She'd previously filed for divorce from Offset in 2020.

According to E! News and screenshots shared by social media users, Offset shared a comment during Cardi's Live in which he accused her of having sex with someone else while she was pregnant.

Cardi claimed she didn't want to bring their issues to social media and possibly "turn off" any possible future partners but felt compelled to hop on Instagram because Offset was being "messy" and "petty" "because you're hurt."




"Let's go lick for lick. Let's go round for round. Let's go hit for hit," she said. "I told you: Leave me ... alone."


Cardi also claimed Offset has tried to "threaten" to take what "I worked my ass off for," seemingly in their divorce proceedings, "because I'm moving on."

Many Houses, Properties Burnt As Irate Youths, Hoodlums Attack Yoruba Community In Kaduna State 2024

Multiple sources told SaharaReporters that the attack initially started on Sunday 29th of September and continued till Tuesday, October 1st.

Many houses have been destroyed after some irate youths attacked the Yoruba community in Jushi Waje, opposite the Nigeria Army Deport Barracks, Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State.

Multiple sources told SaharaReporters that the attack initially started on Sunday 29th of September and continued till Tuesday, October 1st.

It was gathered that the crisis broke out when a Hausa boy reportedly entered a woman’s house in the Yoruba community and was caught.
However, he was said to have been beaten by members of the community and died after he was taken to Sarkin’s palace.
“The Hausa boy was caught stealing in a Yoruba woman’s house and was beaten even by same Hausa people on Sunday. He was later taken to Sarkin’s palace, the thief requested water to drink and it was one Hausa woman that gave him water.

“In the process, he gave up to the ghost, by 7pm, the Hausa youths mobilised in groups and started destroying Yoruba people’s properties. They burnt down houses and cars. Alhamdulilah, I saw death but trust Allah they  only destroyed all my glass windows, I’m out of my home now, please continue to support me and my family with prayers,” a resident affected told SaharaReporters.

Another resident of the community said the youths returned on Tuesday morning attacking people from other tribes.
“They are back destroying our properties and attacking us. See, most of these thieves are from Sarkin’s house and in the past, when these thieves were caught and taken to Sarkin’s house, they would immediately release them yesterday.

“One of my close boys who is a Hausa boy sent me a message late last night to leave my house as they would be coming to kill the Yoruba people and other tribes today.

“Yesterday, one of the Hausa boys stabbed one of our persons and owner of Adumas School while he was sending back his students home over the crisis. They handed the boy to the police but they have released him as we talk, please we all have left our homes because these Hausa boys are threatening to kill us all.”


Calls put across by SaharaReporters to Kaduna command’s PPRO, ASP Mansir Hassan were not picked nor returned.
