Well in my dad's case it's not because he's too busy hustling, he just doesn't know anything about me, infact when he's around everyone tends to become quiet, like if the house is lively and he comes back, everywhere suddenly becomes moody, we grew apart that's all, I don't want to say much but we're practically strangers and it's hard to get along with him.

Raising children requires emotional connection as well, normally the person who's always there is the one you tend to be close to, and it's easy to form an emotional connection to the ever present one, providing for your children alone isn't enough you need to be emotionally available as well, I could tell my mom anything, it's as if she's a fellow guy, including my dating life, but my dad, he literally knows nothing about me, infact throughout your life he might not ask you how was your day even once, lol, if I ever become a dad I'd do the opposite of everything my dad did.

You also need to look at it from another perspective. Some dads are caged on "providing for the family". This tends to drain their time and strength. They fall to bed immediately they get home, after having been exhausted for the whole day. The economy isn't smiling and every dad has to double his hustle. Though I know some dads could do better.

Using my case as an example, I used to have all the time in the world for my siblings, nieces and nephews and everyone. I spent all the time in the world with them and my presence was appreciated. I was available for all errands.

Everything changed when I noticed poverty was trying to marry me, after I lost my dad who used to provide everything for me. I changed immediately. This is because age wasn't by my side and the people I smile with could not provide what I needed or cared about my personal progress.

My business owns most of my time now. Although, I intend to adjust after I get Married. But I don't think my family would get the time I would like to accord them. This is due to the economic challenges of life
