Food / Re: Why "Hungry Man" On Indomie Pack? by medjai(m): 5:00pm On Aug 06, 2012
freecocoa: There is nothing wrong with the slogan IMO,it just means that size if for someone who is really hungry.

Everybody gets hungry so what's the biggie?
And the regular size is for who? Someone already filled? I mean, we all eat to get filled so whether it's the small size or the extra large size, we are all trying to quench our hunger so I don't see any reason why it should be named 'Hungry Man Size'. It's derogatory IMO.

Johnpaul88: Funny enough, i left the viewing centre at full time, unaware that a winner must emerge. I just saw that we won the shoot out now. I'm glad then!
IMO, did Pinto save his pks?

Like Medjai said, i observed the great work rate put up by our players esp in the first half. We dropped when the big boys came on at the interval. It is understandable, though.
I believe we need a CB. I think they see it now. We cannot be throwing away leads like last season again. We should be able to hang on.
I wish PSG well. They 'll really be a great force to contend with.
I wish us well also. We'll have a fantasic season. We deserve it!
Lol. I was also not aware of the game going into PK's after full time. I tuned to watch athletics only to find out on twitter that we had on penalties so I just watched the PK's on youtube. Pinto made two saves.

Both Roberto & Rafinha have been excellent. Very good to see them playing deeper on pitch. It's their future path to 1st team.

2nd half begins. Pinto, Bartra, JDS, Montoya on for Valdes, Puyol, Busi, Planas.

After FC Barcelona announced that the Club had arrived to terms with Boca Juniors for the player on Tuesday, the Argentine forward passed his medical and signed his contract on Wednesday.

Alves & Deulofeu

Good display from the youngsters. Great performance from Roberto. Marshalled the midfield well. Bartra was solid at the back. Deulofeu did very well too. Wasn't afraid to take on his man. Roman also looked lively when he came on in the 2nd half.

Golazo Alves. . . Cracking strike from outside the box. . . We could use more of those in the course of the season. Couple of times we needed that last season.

Surplus of 48.8 million euros in the 2011/12 season, highest figure in Club history

www.fcbarcelona.cat

07/20/2012 12:40
After two seasons in the red, the Club closed out the 2011/12 season with a record surplus, according to economic vice-president Javier Faus

During the 2011/12 season the Club made 494.9 million euros (21.5 more than the previous year) and spent 441.1, reducing costs by 30 million from the 2010/11 season

The total debt, which once stood at 420 million euros two years ago, has been reduced to 335 million

FC Barcelona closed out the 2011/12 season with a historic surplus: 48.8 million euros. This Friday, economic vice-president Javier Faus said the Club made 494.9 million euros and reduced its expenses to 441.1 million. Compared to last season, the Club ended the year with a surplus of 21.5 million and spent 31.5 million less - figures that exceed last year’s budget forecasts. Faus noted that these spectacular results - which are largely due to cutting back on spending - were achieved without having to sell Club assets or first-team players. In addition, investments in players (Cesc and Alexis) surpassed the Board’s business plans and revenue forecasts.

In terms of revenue, both marketing and revenue streams related to the Camp Nou increased by 11%. “Ticket sales have been spectacular,” said Faus on this past season’s attendance. However, the vice-president admitted that Media revenue, tied specifically to television rights, “have topped out and we don’t expect an increase in the next five years.”

Saving money on variables, bonuses

In terms of costs, the Club reduced its spending by 6.6% from the previous year. Faus stated that the change from last year is largely due to the fact that the team did not win the Liga, if the team had won the Liga the Club would have had to pay out 12 million euros in bonuses. “If we had won the Liga the overall surplus would have been 36 million euros and it still would have been the best end-of-year figure in the history of the Club,” he said after noting that “it’s not true that Barça saved itself 50 million euros for not winning the Liga.”

Saving money on variables was one of the ways the Club reduced its costs in the 2011/12 season, but not the only one. Other factors contributed to the Club’s end-of-year positive figures, like improvements in Ticketing - “50 million euros, the highest in the history of the Club,” said Faus -, Nike and FCB Megastore sales, outsourcing Barça TV, the sale of Maxwell, capital from other sales of players, youth team players’ rights and loaning out players, amongst other things. In terms of losses, the main negative impact on the Club's finances was rescinding Keirrison, Hleb and Henrique’s contracts.

Net salaries, stable

The athletic salary budget, including all of the Club’s sports teams, has been slightly reduced to 298 million euros, which is in line with the stability forecast of the last three years. “It’s complicated to reduce this figure further, we’re working to maintain stability,” said Faus, who is satisfied because the almost 300 million euros situate the Club’s expenditure ratio (61%) very close to the optimal level of the sector (55%).

Just as President Sandro Rosell said in his end-of-year review, the Club will use the surplus to pay down the debt, which has been reduced from 365 to 335 million euros as of June 30, 2012, according to independent audits. The Club’s debt has been reduced by nearly 100 million euros over the past two years.

Johnpaul88: Goodluck to u Eyonigger and ur lucky wiffy!

OT- Of all the additions in the B team, the prospect of adding Sergio Araujo from Boca Junior, excites me the most. I learnt he's a player of Aguero's ilk. I have yet to see him play but i cant wait to see him. I hope he completes his move and lives up to the billing and hype. It is a loan move though with an option to buy and promoted to first team, if expectations are met. He says he prefers to play from the left the most, though he won't have any problem playing from any other side, as the coach may deem necessary.
If Neymar eventually arrives - and i hope he does indeed arrive - next summer or the summer after, our attack will be fantastic on paper! With Villa likely to have left, our first trio in attack should then be Neymar - Messi - Alexis. With Araujo, Pedro, Tello, Cuenca subbing them or vice versa. Deulofeu will be getting playing time to gradually expose him to the enormity of challenges facing those who play in the first team, to avoid him going the way of Bojan : youngsters that flattered to decieve eventually.
I'ven't seen much of Araujo too apart from when he was in Nigeria with Argentina's U17 for 09 U17 WC. He did quite well on that occassion, scored a couple of goals. He's also very good on FM...But I remember reading Tim Vickery's blog on South American football on BBC where he said Araujo's development has stalled. He also said he lacked discipline. . . . If we end up signing Araujo, this is what Barca B will look like next season. I have deliberately excluded the players just promoted from Juvenil A apart from Grimaldo and Dongou. They'd hardly get to play.

Oier/Masip

Balliu---Lomban/Le/Gomez---Planas/Grimaldo

Gustavo/Sanchez/Ca

Roberto/Roman---Rafinha/Espinosa

Deulofeu/Kiko---Dongou/Rodri/Rafinha---Araujo/Lobato/Roman

It's a really scary looking team. . . If Araujo does really well, there won't be any need for us to sign Neymar except if it's true that we already made a down payment.

Can't wait for the new season to begin. Barca B will play Castilla in the 2nd week. We need to welcome them to the Segunda with a trademark Manita.

Agostinho Ca and Edgar Le, on loan from Sporting CP have joined Barca B.
The way the B team is being strengthened is real scary. I don't know if it has anything to do with Castilla getting promoted. Four signings already and a couple of promotions from the Juvenil A team and still being linked with a possible loan move for Sergio Araujo. . . . At this rate, Barca B might just win the Segunda division. There will be very few teams that can match them.
