before you begin i will suggest you go to foresfactory(rookie discussion area) and search for Broker Formation. there u will understand that most of the blame we place on brokers are not theirs but a manifestation of our own shortcomings in knowledge. under normal circumstance no broker will freeze, cause spillage. if u check your broker and compare with the platform of the other brokers u will notice that the price levels are always around the same area. the difference in the price point is caused by the difference in liquidity provider which is normal (if u av heard of arbitrageurs before. this set of people profit from price inefficiency from different liquidity provider).
my advice to you is to focus on your strategy and trade execution 2pips to 5pips spillage should not hurt you. check your mt4 execution tab u will see deviation. it is put there for purpose use it to your advantage rather than looking fora broker that will be your best friend cos they are not. infact they are your worst enemy. remember most of them are bucketshop broker.though majority of them now operate secondary account for people that wanna operate from ECN and STP trade position.if at all u will need my recommendation as per a particular broker i will recommend London Capital Group.

There are so many experiences i m seeing from people who post in this thread, So many people have been hurt trading forex because they lost money.some due to their greed, ignorance, fear or sheer laziness. from whatever angle you are viewing this, you are doing this business in order to make money, period! So act in your own best interest, So many people condemn things which is meant to help your trading like indicators, EAs, trading styles e.t.c. from others because they suffered a tragic loss of their money which is their own fault and they are looking for someone or something to blame for their misfortune so they turn a blind eye to the whole package they were using. Please, if you still blame someone or something for your trading results, It is either you change or you have no business doing this business cos you will never make it, (it is not a curse). The market is multifaceted and several factors contribute to change in prices so don't expect something palatable all the time. It is you who have to look into yourself and make necessary adjustments.

Like you said it is better to place ur trades from the deep(support) or (rally)resistance.this gives more of surety for your trades because the majority of the market will do the same tho direction may differ and more importantly know that support or resistances may or may not hold so familiarize yourself with strategies on how you can protect yourself from unnecessary loss. you may also decide to join the train when the market is moving in a particular direction or trend but make sure your knowledge of specific retracement point or pivots is adequate

Your call was defective from the get-go. In an intervention, it is always good to know which currency the central bank is buying with its own currency. In yesterday's move by the BoJ, they sold close to 500billion Yen and bought USD. After the initial intervention, another round of selling was done at 78.35 (don't ask how I know; I have access to some deadly insider news software). This massive flow of USD buying is what has prompted USD strength, especially in the carry trade currencies of the AUD and NZD.

I personally did not trade the USDJPY, but sold the NZDUSD (see my post on this at 3am this morning when the intervention took place). You can see how far south the NZDUSD has moved.

Always understand the fundamentals thoroughly before going technical.
