Exactly. The only time most constituents see their representatives is during the campaign. Most times they come bearing small gifts to hoodwink voters.

I heard about a certain chief who hosted a certain representative who was seeking re-election. He told him point blank that he isn’t getting any vote from his people. He went ahead to reject his gifts. The politician asked him what he wanted he mentioned what his people wanted the most. He told him if votes will count, he should forget votes from his people if he doesn’t do what his people are asking for through him. Truth is the politician started it & told the chief to supervise it while giving him his word that if he returns elected he won’t abandon the project. The project was completed as promised.

Back to the post, how can a community lack portable water in 2024? How?
