.n *modified* OP jah bless u for this thread. Like I always say, its really good for people to be exposed to the things around them. These girls must have been exposed to this type of situation before or still, they must have heard from somewhere. Mine was Nigerian movies o! Remember when I was a kid about 5-6years old, I had a not too similar encounter where I was stopped by a Rich man riding a big jeep with a.c when coming back from school. The man told me he knew my dad and that he's been told by him to take me home, he reached out to me with an apple saying he knows that I'm hungry and I should eat. And by Odin's beard, with the way I was sweating + being tired and hungry I almost took the apple and went in but then I thank God for the many good Nigerian movies I watched back then as a kid, because I was so exposed to the popular re-occurring scenarios that plagued Nigerian movies then, like 'children being kidnapped and used for rituals under false pretense by men/women saying they were sent by their parents to fetch them' on home videos. I was already enlightened/exposed even before this one befell me at that point in time. I quickly said no! And when he persisted I ran for my dear life with head and neck intact, and as such my head and neck are still intact today. In all only God knows what would have happened if I had succumbed to my urgent needs at that time, just maybe I would have gone home sooner with the juicy taste of apple in my mouth, or worse my head would have ended up in a babalawo's pot. Guess I'll never find out, but y'all should thank God for me that I'm still alive today. Story morals: Get exposed!!! Or be disposed!!! |
Macmilla:Here are my analysis (though they just maybe slightly incorrect) As u may/may not already know, the Earth as do the 9 planets are all held in place by the Sun's gravitational field. Now do u think the Earth would have been able to survive this long without the other planets aiding in some way? Take for instance the planet Jupiter. With its enormous size and gravitational pull attracts meteors, comets, asteroids and all to itself and even at times deflect them into deep space, reducing the number of impact Earth has to take. Meh I could go on, just feeling too lazy to type ![]() |
Macmilla:You're absolutely right, any images of the Milky Way that show an outside view or the spiral shape are computer generated by an artist, based on the measured positions of all the stars in our Galaxy. Our farthest spacecraft has barely left the influence of he sun, much less traveled outside the galactic plane. However, images that show the Milky Way from edge-on such as these are likely real because that's how we see our galaxy from Earth. It's also what you'll see if you go outside in a place with very little light pollution (though probably not that defined or colored since our eyes aren't as good as our cameras). Think of it this way; you can take a picture of a barrel from inside it, cant you? And by analyzing that picture you can even extrapolate how the barrel looks from outside. ![]() |
Zedric:As an Astrophysicist, I believe God exists and it's safe to say he created the unexplored universe though speculations arises as to "WHY". Why the many planets, stars, galaxies and all? Are they at all in some way relevant for human survival? Or is science trying so hard to make us re-evaluate our existence by denying God's existence in turn? Guess we'll never know. |
Hawlahscho:Just found this; www.nairaland.com/2473288/26-pictures-make-re-evaluate-entire/1#36241248 ![]() |
speakout72:And thank you Mr. ![]() |
Zedric:What? Don't tell me u think their are aliens out there ![]() |
Koolmexxi:Still, that's not relevant. People just tend to go after useless threads even when educative ones like this exists |
Hawlahscho:Thank u "LOL" for helping niggas when they got nothing to say ![]() |
Hawlahscho:LOL. "W" as in "Dobuluyu" |
AdekunleSegun:He's amazing isn't he? Yet he still watches over all |
CuteMaro:Me too, although I doubt we'll ever see aliens (with each solar system billions of light years away) unless they maybe decide to invade the Earth ![]() |
Koolmexxi:Too bad it didn't make FP ![]() |

And here it is. Here’s everything in the
observable universe, and here’s your place in it.
Just a tiny little ant in a giant jar.
Oh man. ![]()
|
Almost there...
|
And just a little bit farther...
|
Keep going...
|
And farther… Everyone we know and everything we own are all in that red little tiny dot. Amazing isn't it?
|
And this is what happens when you zoom out
farther…
|
This is what happens when you zoom out from
your home to your solar system.
|
So if you’re ever feeling upset about your favorite
show being canceled or the fact that they play
Christmas music way too early — just
remember…
This is your home.
|
And, you know, it’s pretty safe to assume that
there are some black holes out there. Here’s the
size of a black hole compared with Earth’s orbit,
just to terrify you:
|
And just keep this in mind — that’s a picture
of a very small, small part of the universe. It’s
just an insignificant fraction of the night sky.
|
Here’s one of the galaxies pictured, UDF 423. This galaxy is 10 BILLION light years away. When you look at this picture, you are looking billions of years into the past. (Some of the other galaxies are thought to have formed only a few hundred million years AFTER the Big Bang).

The Solar system would have been enough to sustain earth. Why all that?
