I am sharing this to protect others on this platform.

I posted an ad looking for a graphics designer on Nairaland. Someone replied and we moved to WhatsApp. He sounded professional, sent samples, and seemed legit. He asked for payment upfront before starting the job. I paid 15,000 naira.

He started turning me and eventually no reply again. Funny enough, he used 2 numbers to chat with me simultaneously. Beeing that I wan variety, I was ready to take both party. I sent money after back and forth and till now he ghost me. Money gone. No work done.

Lesson learned

- Never pay 100% upfront to anyone you meet on Nairaland
- Scammers are active here daily
- If they insist on full payment before any work, walk away

I have his bank details if anyone needs them to avoid this person.

Summary of day 14 class.
We rounded up piston engine module today and will be writing assessment test tomorrow. My instructor said something today which I explained in the video. If you are thinking of becoming an aircraft maintenance engineer, specializing in propeller is hot in demand in Nigeria as only few engineers are good in it. That is an opportunity to explore. Watch the video for more insights. I also mentioned my last assessment test score in it.
Goodnight.

Summary of day 13 class.
I learnt something important today about being an aircraft maintenance engineer. Your license is what makes you an engineer. If you don't have license you are a technician. Your academic grade eg first lass degree, Msc et al does not matter but experience, licence and ratings. Watch the video. I explained it in detail. Good night.

Scary moment in the sky today.

An Arik Air Boeing 737 lost its left engine mid flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt. The crew shut it down and diverted to Benin.

All passengers and crew landed safely. No injuries.

Aircraft registration is 5N MJF. Photos show significant damage to the engine. NSIB has launched an investigation.
