The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Enugu State Command, has arrested Nkechi Isioko, for allegedly attempting to sell her baby for N100,000.

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) insists that former governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is not qualified to be appointed as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is consequent upon the fact that the combined effect of Sections 66 (1) and 147 (5) of 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and read together, disqualifies Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State from becoming a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Six policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, have been arrested and detained at the Force Criminal Investigations Department, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos State, for killing 33-year-old, Emmanuel Orimisan, in the Ilaje-Ajah, Lagos.

They were all arrested on Wednesday, September 30, after investigations showed that they were culpable in the murder.

The officers had trailed some suspected robbers to their alleged hideout on July 21st in Ilaje community in the Ilaje-Ajah area and in confusion had shot Orimisan who was previously sleeping but had gone outside when he heard gunshots.

The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has insisted that he doesn’t care if his predecessor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi is appointed as a minister or not.

The reason he made this statement was because of the claims by the All Progressives Congress that he was orchestrating a protest against Amaechi’s likely appointment as a minister.
