That's not true, though wat dey do in polytechnics differs somehow from the real architecture but it's part of it!

Architectural Technology is a discipline related to the design of buildings. It is a new discipline which emerged from the practice of architecture and building engineering. It was created as new technologies generated new design and construction methods. Architectural technology is related to the different elements of a building and their interactions. In his published research, Stephen Emmitt explains that "The relationship between building technology and design can be traced back to the Enlightenment and the industrial revolution, period when advances in technology and science were seen as the way forward, and times of solid faith in progress [...] As technologies multiply in number and complexity the building profession started to fragment. Increases in building activities brought about social and cultural changes". We can assume that the practice of architectural technology and the practice of architecture were first dissociated during the period described by Stephen Emitt.
besides polytechnics also offer Building Tech as a course too, dat shows it differs from Archi. Tech, but Architectural Technology is more of Architecture (Mind you Architecture is a broader course encompassing dem in itsef, nd also others...) check more info on other sites

Building is a beautiful course, as long as people need somewhere to stay ( as long as forever ) , a builder would always get jobs. In answering ur question, building is easy to study, it is a course that is midway btw civil engineering and Architecture. Aside from normal school stress, the course is straight forward enough as u are priviledged to see physically all that u are being taught, unlike ur chemical engr, telecom engr and most engineering courses. Welcome aboard brother and don't forget to take advantage of the programmes the National Association of Buildings Students (NAOBS) FutMinna chapter has to offer, stay cool, stay out of trouble and Peace out!

The only conditions for that is (1) If u have a deficiency in a subject then THE SCHOOL would advise u on the course to move to, but make no mistake that it is your dream course u would be changed to. (2) If u write another jamb. Any course u are given just try ur best to be the best in that field and u would never have problems. they wil gv u guys temporary accommodation pending wen hostel booking portal wil be open.
N concerning d booking everybody interested in staying in d hostel must be @ alert cus booking only last 4 few hours i repeat FEW HOURS if nt MINUTES.
Mk sure u r been cleared fast enough, cus if u r nt cleared u wont be able to book at all.
